A lot of the coins in the top 100 are used for exchange platforms. I'm going to talk about a few coins here. Feel free to add to this list.

Coin used for 50% off all trading fees on a top 5 exchange in the world. It could be pushing top 3 now. They give away exotic cars weekly, but you have about a one in two million chance of winning one unless you're a whale who doesn't care how much you lose in a trade.

Mooned mid-year during the cypto/alt craze and has been slowly tanking since in terms of BTC value. It's up 250% in the last 2 weeks though.

This one is actually some sort of Proof of Stake and referral-based platform. I haven't looked into it. It has slowly gained BTC-wise since the mid-year moon, but it has dropped by 50% in the last month. It has recovered in the last 24 hours though.

outside top 100, has tanked in terms of BTC value since coming out in August 2017 but has slowly gained the last couple weeks. Will any news cause it to take off?
