Default Buyer Opened a return case never shipped item Back need Advice

Hi This is my first return case. I sold a item on 1/3 buyer opened a return case i accepted an shipping label was sent thru ebay. I says buyer has till 1/10 to ship item back or we may close the case it's now the 12th 9 days later an still nothing. My Question is how long does it take for this case to close i read 7 days some say 10 an even 30 days. Has anybody have a real knowledge on this. Also will the case close on it's own or should i call them. This has caused my PayPal to be Negetive.

There should be an option for ebay to step into the case to have a person to review it?

Id wait for others to chime in as I am against calling for the most part

They don't give That option. The only options they give is issue refund, contact buyer, report buyer thats it. i don't wanna call them neither being a Stealth account but my PP is Negitive because of this.

Just leave it there and wait for one month. Contact eBay then and it will closed in your favor

a month Dam.. It said buyer had to return it by the 10th, its gonna be 10 days now my payapl is negitive beacause of it i think the buyer tried to scam me.. it's a joke if a seller owes money ebay is all over it if you don't respond by the date they give you.. But they just let buyers ride like this. If it don't fall off after tomarrow whitch will be 10 days i may just take the chance an call them

If PayPal is holding your money for return case, it must be your PayPal is new. All my aged accounts PayPal do not hold anything for returns opened by buyer

my PP is 8 months old. The buyer opened a return case an because i didn't have that much money in my PP it gave me a Negative ballance

PayPal will hold funds once a return is opened depending on the reason given by the buyer. For example, if reason given was "not as described", funds will be held. If reason was something like "changed mind" or "wrong color/size", then no hold will occur.

Be aware most of the hold on funds in PayPal are imposed by eBay NOT PayPal.

wrong. If you aren't top rated, paypal will holds your funds for ANY and EVERY case. You must be top rated.

Just call eBay, explain the situation, have the written text available (that states the 10 day rule, should be on the case itself) quote it to them, ask them to close it.

Simple stuff.

I'm going to, this is the text from ebay...... (We've asked the buyer to ship the item back by Jan 10. Wait until you get the item back before issuing a refund.You should wait until you get the item back before you refund the buyer. Please ensure that you issue the refund within 6 business days of the item being delivered. If the buyer doesn't send the item back by Jan 10 we may close this return.) Still nothing so ridiculous

Sometimes eBays "Resolution Center" glitches. I have no idea what causes it, but normally either party (buyer OR seller) can escalate any type of case (INR, SNAD, etc) 4 days after it has been opened. I've had random cases not be eligible for auto escalation (i.e. I'm unable click the option and then "submit" for the entire 30+ days until they auto-time out.) No rhyme or reason as to why. Same item bought on the same day from a different customer with the same reason, I can escalate 4 days after opening.....

Still, calling eBay can manually escalate any claim. Just be careful and make sure you have the required info on hand, i.e. if it's an INR case, make sure tracking shows DELIVERED or DELIVERY ATTEMPTED (Delivery Attempted is actually good enough for eBay to close the case in your favor, pro tip!) or else you might get a case closed against you, even if the item is still in transit! Then you'll have to file and appeal and it's just a pain. Some of the reps are really lazy and or stupid, so make sure it's open/shut.

It's not a INR buyer got item an said it was damaged during shipping, i know it wasn't.. but any case, he opened a return case i accepted it an shipping label sent to him thru ebay he never shipped the item back the case is still on return started an this was done on 1/3/18 never heard from buyer again. and there is no option for me to have ebay step in

some people make things soooo complicated...

1. call eby
2. tell them buyer has provided no return tracking info within stated time frame
3. they will close case
4. move on with your life
