Can I get a refund? Did I mess up?!

I bought an item with my buying ebay account (never sold a thing and have good feedback)

My item arrived after a huge delay and its the wrong item...im talking different item altogether!

I paid via debit card through the pay now function...Dont have a paypal account hooked up to this account so I pressed "pay" and directly entered a debit cards details for payment.

It says in eligable for a refund if I used paypal or the pay button function as it goes through paypal.

So how do I ask for a refund? Do I have to set up a paypal with that debit card? The card name and my ebay name a different as I used my friends debit card.......will this be a problem?

First of all, you should contact the seller: give them the chance to fix the problem.If the item took a while to get to you, are you sure that you are not annoyed with the seller? Not a case of buyer's remorse or worse.
If that does not work there are other options.
Regardless be polite, compromise & don't hassle over shipping costs

Sorry if it sounded like buyers remorse. To make it more clear....say you bought a toyota supra and you were delievered a honda integra worth half of what you paid. Consider shipping a large item to the usa from new zealand. Its not cheap and more then a slight inconvienience.

Would it be possible to have a name for a paypal account that is different from the ebay account name? Remember I only buy with this account.
