I have been on this forum for several years. I am curious why some people get suspended. I know why I got suspended, sold trademark items of a criminal organization and got suspended. Made a bunch of money but the hassle is getting pretty bad. So all of the ebay "stealthers" that make fun of and rag "counterfieters" why is it you got suspended? Slow shipping or no shipping? Too many returns? Not paying fees? Don't really understand how they are thousands of slealthers but none of them were selling copyright items.
Again Just curious

A stalker got me. Very painful for me. Mind, I had given him a really good serve.
Took 3 months to get him out of my life. Two accounts of mine went, three of my family. He went NARU within 6 months. It was such a pleasure.

Somebody bought 54 items from me and left 54 negs back in the days before multiple negatives from one person only accounted for 1 strike. Effectively I got 54 strikes at once.
The account was history.
It had been linked to two other accounts both with my real info, and over the next 6 months they killed them also.
I lost a few while learning stealth, haven't lost an account in a number of years. I still have most of the stealths I started with 6-7 years ago.

Been suspended back from eb when I was dabbling in digital sales - not the MS keys or so but just images and tools. Also random canning of pp accounts.
Problems with Amazon for false accusations of selling copyright or f*ke media...even though none of my sales were at all media...#genericmessage ugh
Came across this forum and always nice to learn new ish and be ahead of the game when possible.

That was bad, and a lot worse than the ba$tard buyer who won two of my listings, did not pay then and immediately left negs on both. He had no intention of paying, just wanted to harm my account.
I got the last laugh by gathering up all his buyer data (name/address/etc) andd making a few accounts with that same info. I then abused those account until they got suspended then just waited. About a week later the guy who gave me the negs went NARU.

I ran my first account from a smartphone and was totally unaware of the seller dashboard. I was shipping everything without tracking so my metrics steadily decreased until the account was suspended.

Family emergency. I went out of town. Account was doing 150-200 transactions a day, but I was gone for 2 weeks and didn't ship sh*t.
I guess you could say I had a couple of complaints. lol
If I would have only taken my listings down before I left... or hell, logged in from my phone and did it while I was away. I guess stress will do that to a person, though. I remember being in a hospital room and reading an email from ebay regarding the situation, and not even caring.
You can bet your ass I care now! haha
The attached PP is still in good standing.

Competitor harassment and my own desire to not give in to returns for the custom made items I sell. I cut my nose off to spite my face when someone is a jerk and expects to keep custom products and my money. Not going to to happen.

NOT.
I am amazed at how their personalities change.

Then I go off like a hand grenade. | That’s me! I try to be cool with most folks, especially if they are friendly and seem genuine. But when I get some dirt bag who claims the items smell like cigarettes (never smoked anything but a turkey at thanksgiving) or claim the items have holes or some ****... yeah you’re not getting the opportunity to return them because you’re full of it and making up lies. I take a few hits, usually salvage most shops but during the holidays when this becomes a trend I drop sales after the 15 and say the hell with it and let the stores go. Luckily hasn’t happened recently but I’ll do it in a minute cause I am not putting up with people being dirtbags. It’s a principle thing.

10 years ago my $20.000/mo account got suspended.... got a phone call as "courtesy" from my eBay manager and that's it.
Account is a gold star with 99.9% feedback, not a single late shipment, almost no claims, everyone was happy.
So the reason they suspended me? I don't know.... could be because I'm not white? Could be because I have a cat? Could be they have a drone on my home and they saw me ate something they don't like?
Shrugs.

By my understanding they changed the rule so that negatives no longer count as a strike against the account... wonder if it would be possible to ring em up and ask em to reinstate your account on the basis that those old rules no longer apply
Would be invaluable to have our old account back with real deets!

Whackjob, trying to use leverage to get a refund for all the items and keep the product.
I probably would have done it if I'd known what the consequences would be. It cost a lot more than the $300 or so in lost revenue and starting all over again and stress and misery.
But I dug my heels in and made a point. Valuable lesson to me. The account produced 5K+ a month every month, and the others linked to it another 2-3K a month. All down the tubes because I lost sight of the big picture and got stubborn. And in the end the buyer still got my money and product both and I got dumped down the toilet.
Important lesson: sometimes you have to take a little loss to continue getting a big gain.

As any experienced seller on eBay knows only too well, you're likely to encounter the occasional psychotic nutcase. You often know the buyer will be a problem right off the bat as soon as they start asking lame questions, or complaining BEFORE even paying or buying the item.
Once that starts, I simply don't respond and block. Not worth dealing with.

It would be fun to have a forum discussion board dedicated to swap stories about those "memorable" EB buyers we come across every once in awhile. I've had some doozies over the years.
Sometimes takes real willpower to overcome the tempation to respond in kind, or get into a pissing match with those people, but as professionals we can't do that, right?
The OP was asking good questions about how people get suspended. Being a non-professional seller not going right in your customers eyes is one way. Even so, depite doing everything right, correct & just, you sometimes just can't win either way.
As Greenbean mentioned above, theres's only so much sh#t one can take before going off like a hand grenade. | | |
