Is this supposed to be directed at me??

I personally have never had any issues with using Halifax bank accounts but there are some forum members that have. The main issues they had were (1) mismatching names and (2) personal accounts being used for business purposes.

Any bank is capable of causing a problem with both the above but in the vast majority of cases they never bother to do anything.

I use lloyds personally and they're fine

I've opened a bunch of bank accounts

if I register more stealths will it work if I use mismatched name?

from what others are saying, if you use lloyds or halifax it's bad.

but santander doesn't mind mismatched names as long as account number and sort code are fine?

Is that it?

Lloyds are fine until they are not and they lock all the accounts.

I would just avoid them. There are so many banks out there why take the risk?

Just a quick note re -

Yorkshire and Clydesdale Banks Readycash Account

- it can not be opened directly ie you have to go through the long process of opening a normal current account and then if you fail to get a normal current account, then they offer you a Readycash account.

Halifax actually now state in the transfer section of their site that the account name isn't checked. Lloyds is the same.

Are you sure that is for incoming transfers not just outgoing transfers?

It was for an outgoing transfer. In the fields where you enter name of recipient, there is a text note stating (this is not checked).

Yep that has always been the same

Its just the bank staying that if your sending it to the wrong person they are not responsible

I am receiving in Halifax from paypal and checked the statements there is no name on the actual transaction. Do you think bank can still see the name registered with paypal.

Yes, they can. It tends to only become an issue when your bank account is manually reviewed.
