 EIN questions
Hi all. I am looking for someone knowledgeable to give me some guidance. Feel free to PM me with answers if there is info that shouldn't be openly shared.
Here is my situation:
I have a stealth account that I have been selling on since the end of last year. Recently I have increased sales slightly and received the request for taxpayer info. Lately I have been having some payments being held. I am at about $18,000 on this account after making about $2000 in sales yesterday all of which are held. I want to take some sort of action before I ship the items out since I am at the threshold.
I am not new to stealth but don't run multiple accounts at a time so I keep getting caught up at the limits. I read many posts but am looking for more specifics. Here are my questions:
1. I know I will need to get an EIN but can I get one say today and upload it today or is there a waiting period?
2. I wasn't clear on how to fill out the EIN form correctly in order to avoid the W9 issue I read about. Can you give me an example of business name, filing status and other things I would need to make sure are correct when filling out the form?
3. Any pitfalls I need to watch out for when going through this process?
4. I know I should have multiple accounts but have an issue with ip addresses. Can you give me advice on what you use if you do multiple accounts at a time?
5. I want to start generating a larger income to pay off my wifes old ebay balance to try and get it reinstated and build that account up as my primary business account.
