looking for help with a seized package at US customs. Thanks.

EDIT: I ordered a Chanel branded wallet from a very reputable reseller in Singapore. DHL even attempted to deliver the package but I was not at home at the time. When the package went back to DHL it was seized by US customs and when I called to ask why it was seized, the officer said it was not authentic and that I would receive a letter in 4-6 weeks.

I've been in contact with the seller and she maintains that the item is authentic. The item was packaged with the receipt and authenticity card.

I'm not sure what to do. I don't know what was in the package. Maybe the seller did a bait and switch? I am wondering if it is possible to get pictures from US customs of the product so that I can send the pictures to an authentication service.

This is one of those rough situations of seller's word vs customs action. Chanel is a really hot commodity. You spoke to an officer it seems? Did you ask him what can be provided to prove authenticity? I also have my own issues about the seller - you say reputable but you have proof? Seller has photos and documents?

I'm basing the reputation of the seller on reviews left by other people. The seller does have photos of the item and even enclosed the VAT receipt with the package.

The customs officer I spoke to asked me to describe the item as if he hadn't even seen the item, but he then goes on to say that the item wasn't even a good ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and then told me that I'd be getting a letter in the mail in 4-6 weeks. He didn't even know what would be said in the letter when I asked him if it would note that the item was ⊗⊗⊗⊗ so that I would have proof to try and get my money back from the seller. The officer I spoke to wasn't very nice and didn't give me much useful information.

Do you think I can ask for pictures from the customs officer to see if the item is the same as the one pictured by the seller?

You are asking for too much help from the forum on this issue now - you need legal counsel if you are proceeding further.
