Default Ebay store stealth question

I have reached my limit of free listings on my ebay account but I have many more items to list. Is it safe to upgrade the account or will ebay find this suspicious. The account is very well aged but had only purchases on it, it just began sales about a week ago

I've never had a problem opening a store, but I've never done it after only selling a week. I think that's going to send up red flags...

Ok, thank you! How long do you suggest I wait? The items are very, very low risk. Should I continue to list and just bite the bullet when it comes to the listing fee or should I let account rest for a while until next month? I only list a handful of items each day but I hit the 50 free listings already.

If you just started your selling activity last week youre going a bit fast.
Id slow it down if I were you.
As for upgrading to a store - don't do it before youre well established as a seller to not raise any red flags. I myself would wait 2-3 months and make sure to have plenty of feedbacks in that time period.

Ok, thank you. I guess I just got excited as the limit is 1000 items a month and I wanted to list more than 50. Thanks for the help and advice!

Hmmm.... I think everyone is giving you a very cautious advice.

How about this, why not make or pull up you rback up account that has a similar history and make a store based on that account?
If they nuke it, you know it's too early. But if not...

Or spread your sales out across 4-5-6 accounts so it doesn't matter.

I will, I am going to work on some today. I trust all of this advice explicitly. I do have one question that I am curious about, why would eBay give someone a listing limit of 1000 if they do not want them to use it? I am not going to test the matter as I am going to listen to all of your advice but just wondering why they would do that?

Because it's almost like a random roll. You can't think that way with ecommerce.
You need to have the mindset of survival and caution.

If you were using your real account and you could submit invoices and/or identifying paperwork in the event eBay asked for them, then you could sell the full 1000 items in your first month. The point of taking it slow the first couple of months is to avoid those document requests because a document request will often kill a stealth account.

Its not EBAY that you need to worry about selling 1000 items, it is PAYPAL.

I'm not worried about eBay or Paypal selling 1000 items since neither of them sell any items. I doubt we would be competitors even if eBay and Paypal started selling.

I assume you mean Paypal would be the cause for concern on high-volume accounts but that's not true. I've lost a business eBay account due to an ID/invoice request a couple years ago. Sure it's more likely Paypal will request docs but it can happen on eBay also - and it's not a problem in either case if you're selling legitimate items on a legitimate account.

And even if you are so called "legit", they'll still nuke you if they want to.

I had a $144k/year account 10 years ago and they nuked it for NO reason.
I have had stealth accounts to date and NONE have gotten suspended.
