Thumbs down How does the eb return process work these days?

I bought a large lcd tv recently which arrived with some bits missing and dead pixels. I immediately opened a return request which the business seller didn't answer to. Right now I have the option to escalate for ebay to step in, if I do that what will happen next?

The TV isn't something you can easily ship, they used a specialist 2 man courier service. I can only imagine it costs quite a bit more than a regular courier shipping. So, for me to arrange a return myself would put me out of pocket and would be risky on my part.

So what would be the resolution here? Assuming eb goes in my favour. What if they still don't respond to it? Then what?

Shockingly this TV has 12 months warranty with them, I cant imagine the hassle I'd get if I needed to return under warranty.

Trying to return TVs is a huge hassle as not all couriers will agree to taking it, so you'll need to find a courier that does accept such fragile goods.

If you escalate it to eBay, they'll most likely say return for a refund. They wouldn't say nothing.

The seller needs to send you a return label (with insurance) It is faulty goods, you do not need to pay for return, it is not a change of mind.

If they do not reply, ebay will step in and either send you a return label and deduct it from seller, give seller option to do the label. If seller does not respond, you might get to keep it and get refund.
