Default We noticed some unusual activity

Hi.

I have gotten the below message when logging into my PayPal account, just after receiving a US$100 payment (send to friend payment) from a friend of mine:

We noticed some unusual activity
We need your help securing your account to prevent unauthorized access. For your safety, there may be some limitations on your account until you take action.

When I click "SECURE MY ACCOUNT" all i receive is the message "Sorry, we couldn’t confirm it’s you", with no information on how to secure the account or what to provide.

I cannot access ANYTHING, not even the transaction history to reverse my friend's payment which is now sitting unable to be used. I cannot even login to the PayPal community forum or the "send PayPal an email" sections as it asks me to login and every time I login I go straight to the "unusual activity" page.

My account is a South African account (I am accessing it from South Africa, so no problems with IP address). Also, the computer used for the PayPal account has never been usec for any other account, nor has the IP address (mobile 4G internet dongle).

The PayPal account is about a year old but has barely been used more than a few small transactions.

Please someone assist on how I can get this sorted, or at least reverse the payment back to my friend as the money is now sitting there without being able to be used or even reversed as every part of the account is inaccessible.

you need to call paypal. no way around it.

usually, they will ask you questions to confirm you are the owner
and that's all.

Do you have a confirmed phone on the account?

If this is a glitch that's not fixing itself after a few days of waiting, I would suggest you give PayPal a call and see if they can help. You have nothing to lose.
