I can't add a custom avatar. No option.

Nobody can. Option is disabled in forum administrative settings.

Damn! I just made one too. Why would they disable this? It harms the forum in no way.

I don't know, I'm new here. Could be to save on bandwidth, due to the massive amount of members here. Or maybe people were abusing avatars in some way.

I was frustrated by not being able to use a custom avatar also so I disabled avatars

Same. I just made one and I couldn't find an option to upload one. No way I am using their generic avatar.
