Default Issues with working with 0 stock

Hi,

I've an interesting question.

What happen if you work with 0 Stock and the buyer claims a dispute against you?

For example:
1) If I sell an item and then I'll purchase the item to my foreign provider
2) My provider send the item to the buyer address not to mine

What happen if the buyer start a dispute for non received item?

What happen if the tracking number shows another country from sender but the receiver has the correct address?

I'm a bit confused in this point.
Does paypal compare the seller zip code (mine) with the tracking zip code? or only the correct deliver?

Tricky question.
Sometimes PP only cares that the item arrived at the proper destination. Other times they want proof that it was originated by the seller and also received by the buyer.

Best thing for you would be to enter the tracking number into the PP system as soon as your supplier provides you that number.

Thx for the info.

I think that work with 0 stock can cause some troubles.

If the box are retained by customs you're reponsible of the delivery and you can lose the goods and the package because it's back to the provider's address.

But I remembered that Paypal first asked the seller for the tracking number but later they ask to seller for a proof of shipment (a documentation copy). Maybe if they check the sender address don't match with your address may be limit the account.

Your talking about dropshipping it sounds like. I have had bad experiences with that in the past. Only b/c you can't see what the supplier is sending the buyer, and you are responsible for the item. I think its better to buy your products directly so that you can perform your once quality control, then resell them.

^^^Agreed. Drop-shipping is difficult to 'manage'. Many accounts get into trouble with this method.

Much better to just order the qty you can afford, wait for them to arrive, count and inspect, then list tangible goods.

OP:

Address of the shipper should not matter. There is no mention of this type of scenario neither in eBay's nor PayPal's terms of service. That doesn't mean they wouldn't mess with you though.

All of my listings state that my items are coming from the same location (My listed address on eBay) but I ship out from 8 different distribution warehouses located all over the country.

Your biggest concern should be whether or not your supplier is shipping with tracking info and within 7 days of cleared payment.

I've put PP tracking in from suppliers emails and never a prob. A couple times I skipped it and had to supply later. Didn't fly.
