Default paypal claim when courier has provided retailer with proof of delivery

An order of over 1k was made from the gear best website to the UK.
The order never arrived.
Gearbests response was that they have proof of delivery from the courier.
The proof is just a scribble that does not look like any name or letter.
Gearbest are no longer responding.

Will PayPal accept this proof of delivery and close the claim in gearbests favor even though the order was not received?

If its delivery confirmation on Yodel website then its delivered in PayPals eyes.

Also, most people just scribble when signing for a parcel.

I would contact Yodel directly to find out what's happened. Ask your neighbours too.

No the chargeback will effect your PayPal account and not the bank and you should call yodel and ask for the last delivery scan GPS location as this can pin point exactly where it was scanned.

Thanks for this advice but I have been told by several parties that I do not have a contract with the courier, only with gear best.
The GPS tracking is my address but I did not recieve the order.

The courier is not able to issue a refund.

Seems like the courier has either taken the item I’d be kicking up a big fuss with yodel, threaten to repot It to the police see if that makes them pull their finger out of their arse or take the business you purchased from to small claims as the fact is you have not received the item full stop. It’s not an easy one though your gonna have to fight for it.

I just checked the yodel website which states "only the contract holder can register a claim with us"
Gearbest is the contract holder.

Gear best did offer a partial refund so maybe gear best know it was not delivered?
