Default PayPal ban = Venmo ban?

So I've seen this question on the forums but no one has ever answered. If you have been limited by PayPal and banned from eBay, can you make a Venmo account with matching info to the banned accounts, or will they ban you too? I know Venmo is owned by PayPal, but I don't know if they cross-reference data. 2 years ago Aspkin said he'd test this, but never followed up.

Thanks...

Maybe no one has answered because no one knows....just something to think about.

As far as I am concerned you won't get banned from being banned on the other one.

I'm sure they cross reference it but either Venmo or PayPal can ban you any time for any reason they deem necessary so...

Ok, so nobody has a definitive answer.

But I'm willing to bet if your Paypal account is limited, you would have problems trying to set up an account on Venmo, Payflow, or any other Paypal company. Common sense says a database cross reference would take seconds and is something that would be done for the sake of security.

Yeah, I was just hoping someone would have tested it since the original posts from 2+ years ago.

To answer your question YES YOU CAN!!! my PayPal account was hacked and banned and I made a venmo account using the exact same email of my banned PayPal account and it worked and I also was able to order the venmo debit master card which works just like the PayPal debit card... I have had this account now for almost 6 months and have had no issues... Hope this answers everyones questions
