Default AOL accounts for ebay and paypal

I'm curious about something. Aren't some of you worried that your ebay and paypal accounts will be supsended as a result of using aol? I know they have alot of ips but they also have alot of banned ips as well. What has been everyone's experience so far? Also are all of you actually paying for the service? A bit expensive at $40 a month don't you think?

i think there are way too many people who use aol for ebay to suspended them just for that. it probably does put a small red flag on your account. you can use the aol browser for free. once you get an aol user name (email address) download the browser and log in as a guest. just don't use aol for an internet connection. i'm not sure if i explained that right.... but it does work.

Thanks, was kind of wondering how the browser worked.
I'll try it on a new account that I will be trying to set up.
I am thinking if I use one computer just for ebay and run Firefox set to clear everything after exiting (cookies, cache, etc) and AOL as a browser to reset IPs each time, it should eliminate any tracks.
Obviously, I would think that in order to decrease the risk of raising any red flags, if you are going to use the AOL browser to access EB, your registered email there should also be AOL.

Sound like a plan to anyone?

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the browser and got my aol screenname and signed in on aol.com but I don't see how this does anything. Care to explain?

Check your IP out of the aol browser and then check it out of the IE browser...they will be different

It's the same, nothing changed so I thought I probably should be downloading the aol 9.0 vr software. After I finished installing I tried to sign on as a "guest" thru the software and it wouldn't let me in no matter what I did.

well, I signed up for an aol addy and then regged at EB and PP no prob. I DL'd the aol software and browse with it. since I am not using them to be my isp there is no fee. when I am browsing using them I have a different IP than with ie.
Was as simple as could be for me and I kind of like the way their email works when used with their browser installed.
For now I am only using all of the aol resources for EB and PP purposes and will probably do so from now on.

Just be aware that the aol ip is most likely showing in a different state, unless you live in VA, and that it's not a proxy. That's if you're using their browser.

That's odd. I originally downloaded their browser and signed into it using my new aol user id and password I created on aol.com but simply browsing with their browser did not yield a different ip address at all.
