Received 1099k form today on stealth account! Has a Tin# I didn’t supply them with?

Purchased an eBay account 2 years ago from a seller on here. It is a state of (ma) account. I did not go over selling limits on the account. PayPal kept asking me for a TIN number. I did not provide one. The 1099k form has my TIN listed? I’m guessing they got this thru my bank deposits?

Not sure how they got the TIN but in VT or MA there is some sort of state law that makes you get a 1099k even if you've only sold $1. They're really liberal states. Maybe try changing the address on the account out of those states to try to avoid this next year.

The big question is how this is going to work paying taxes this year with a 1099K from another state with a different name on it?

Paypal is still asking me for a ITIN or a SS# on the account and it is LIMITED. I think the account is pretty much done for.

I'm not sure about that. And after further research, it looks like the threshold for MA is $600 in sales.
