Default EIN Setup Question

Trying to prepare myself for new Paypal policy update. I understand how to get a EIN but is it an issue if my name doesnt match stealth details? When i upgraded personal account to business it asked for last 4 of SSN and while it was my last 4 it was for a stealth name. Is that an issue? Also, when it comes time for taxes do I have to do anything different than how I file normally? I usually lump all my sales into a self employed income tax filing. With different EINs would I need to file them seperately or can I continue to file as I have in past? Lastly, anything else I need to know about maintaining multiple EINs? Im assuming PP business name needs to match EIN name.

I think it's way too soon for anyone to try giving you exact details on any of this.

I have a rarely used account that's verified with an EIN and it still got the "claim it" thing. So I don't think providing an EIN is going to be good enough. We'll see.

Not trying to get around the claim it- that's inevitable. I'm concerned about adding a bank account and getting a SSN request. Hope a EIN will be a work around for that.

To be more clear- I have several accounts that have had a bank account linked in the past but have since been removed. When trying to add a new account for the past month it says "sorry we cant process this request right now, please try again later" Other members of the forum have experienced this same issue when trying to add a bank to their account- this has nothing to do with the bank. It's a new Paypal security feature. Both members I know of when they called in to try to add an account over the phone were told they needed SSN. So I'm trying to decide whether to give up on these accounts or try to work around the issue with a EIN.

I really don't know if upgrading to business with an EIN will do the trick. It would b interesting if it does work. Please let us know if you try this.

Otherwise just put them to the side if you can. It is always possible the error message goes away in a few months.

It would be great if they did go away but I'm not holding my breath. I'll keep everyone posted if I go this route.

Also, for my accounts that do have a bank attached already I'm probably going to need a EIN for them too as I'm moving my listings from about 100 accounts down to 20-30... so I'm definitely going to be hitting the 200/20k threshold... so I will need some EIN's regardless.

From what I read on another post, LLC EIN is for mismatched names and EIN is for same name on account. Just wanted to update this post for future reference. Still unsure on my taxes question/any maintenance issues so if anyone has any experience please share thank you.
