If you elaborate, it will help others help you.

Did you do anything you shouldn't have done? i.e. open/close a tonne of accounts at the same time?

Put through too much money in one go?

Raise any red flags?

P.S. They're a part of Natwest, and i've been using Natwest for years without any issues*.

hmm... something must've flagged your accounts up. I've been using them for significantly longer without any issues to date.

Did you try reach out them?, did anyone let anything slip as to why this happened?

Did they say if you can still bank with them, i.e. if you decided to open a business account? or have they said you're not allowed to bank with them again, ever.

I'd just take your money and avoid using their services for a while.

There's plenty of other banks available. Barclays is a good alternative.

Time heals all wounds. Give them a little bit of space for the time being.

If/When you decide to reopen a bank, go with the business option, and go with one of the other banks in their group, i.e. avoid ulster altogether.

Lloyds, TSB and Halifax have had reports of causing issues with mismatched names.

Have you not got any other banks? HSBC? Barclays?

If you're in the UK, you should be able to open an account with any major bank online without needing to step into a branch.

Your sins are terrible and it is just that you suffer!
I'm kidding.

I've had troubles with banks and stealth names in the past - so much that I only think of banks as PayPal 2.0 and you don't want to mess with banks. You do not want a bank to ever shut your account as they may share that information with other agencies even if you think the reason for closing your account is benign.

Here's what I do and it works for me:

1. I have a 'mother' bank account which is a business account. Business accounts shouldn't have any trouble receiving large sums of money if you have arranged with your bank prior... This adds a bit more security. Your taxes will be easier to sort and your accountant may even buy you a beer.

2. I have a max of 2 accounts with any stealth friendly bank I can find.
I don't bother with current accounts as they report to credit agencies, I stick to savings.

3. I always start with small deposits and let it sit there for a while.

4.
a. At this time, I never take in up to £5,000 per account monthly. If my PayPal takes in more than my personal threshold, I'll simply attach another bank account to it. With the VAT threshold now in place, these days I don't even bother. I just torpedo the sales from eBay to slow things down.
b. I never pay any supplier from my savings accounts. I only ever transfer to my business account.
c. I have a credible explanation of why my PayPal is in a 'pseudonym' just in case the banks decide to check with me - and they have

You can move a million in one year without having a single bank account closed.
You'd have to operate under the radar. Consider taking an objective look at your operation from a bank(ster)'s perspective.

There's no doubt the veterans on this website have more efficient ways in taking in much more without any trouble.

I wish you good luck and I hope you sort it out.
