WTF happened here? Someone bought at the top & lost so much money they got mad?

BTC is at the bottom of the 4 year cycle and everyone lost faith? luz

Your suppose to buy the fear. Not chase the price. These last few months is when the money's made. It's the time to accumulate.

I've been buying crazy amounts of hardware. GPU prices are so low ATM its laughable. People are practically giving the sh!t away. I bought 11 GTX 1070's and 6 P104-100's last month alone. The only thing stopping me from buying more is I'm running out of power.

Even with as bad as things are, there was only two days where I was losing money mining and that was when ETH was at $80

It's still here, just not seeing much action recently while the market is stable.

You need to remember the forum BTC experts only post when the price is riding high and everyone claims to be an astute financial expert.

Some manufacturer needs to start a big marketing campaign, build BTC registers, and convince a whole lots businesses to buy them before baseline goes anywhere again..

I doubt it will take that much effort. Not with the next BTC halving 433 days away.

Things are happening slowly but surely...

Samsung's new Galaxy S10 has ETH wallet built in. Most exchanges have expanded to the point they will be able to handle the next wave of FOMO. Lots of regulations have passed. Most countries now require KYC. S.E.C. practically put a end to ICO's. Main stream movies are coming out about crypto...

Things are looking good ATM.

Eh.. still need to convince a whole lot of businesses crypto, that has a higher risk of falling out than the dollar, that it's something worth accepting payments of.

We already have debit cards for electric money. What is crypto's edge? Why use it for everyday purchases?

The Federal Reserve adopting a national crypto is making more sense at this point, to me at least, as they would control it's worth with slight inflation and deflation.

Unconfiscatable, Permission-less, Deflationary, Boarder-less, No real need for 3rd party, need I say more... Just being Unconfiscatable alone is beyond an edge.. It's like a gift from GOD.

You shouldn't & you wont... Only use I see is for Store Of Value or sending large amounts of money across boarders ATM. It will be at least a decade before everyday purchases IMHO.

If I remember correctly you tried to get in to mining when cards were at or over MSRP? Bought power hungry AMD Vega's? Live in California where power costs are higher than average? I feel your pain.

General public doesnt transfer large sums of money across borders.

Why buy something directly from China when they're here with warehouses or you can buy it from someone who has already imported it for you.

Crypto is driven by paranoia. The federal reserve isn't going to just one day up and deflate the dollar to 0. Wtf.

We're seeing it now, crypto is mostly on the dark web and for buying cannabis...

Last comment is immature, but I'll bite. Vega's can be undervolted to 175W, little over 1070's at 160W. Ive made more money by saving on heating oil than mining.. Buy used... they're GPU's..

1070's.... 160w??? I get 32Mh @ 80w with 1070's. With P104 I get 41Mh @ 115w.

If your still into mining you might want to look into Nvidia Profile Inspector and putting GPU's into P-State 0...

Screenshots of stability please. I'd believe 20mh max.

Nvidia cards are P-State 0 by default.

I forgot how much you like pics... lulz

GPU# 13 in Phoenix 4.1c is GPU # 12 in Nvidia Inspector cuz Nvidia Inspector starts @ GPU# 0

moarlyk 31.236 MH/s @ 88w 100% stable. amirite?

I'm not going to take the time change my settings and run Phoenix 4.0b just to show you its possible to get 32MH/s @ 80w on a 1070. and yes you are correct. It's not 100% stable... but its possible.

P104-100

GPU #5 in Phoenix 4.1c is GPU # 4 in Nvidia Inspector.

40.804 MH/s @ 118w 100% stable.

Oh... yer going by software reading...

Yea... 1070 TI's are just about where yours are... 92-97 ish watts...

Do you have a kill-a-watt meter? Only way to accurately measure true watts, and the 1070's were pulling more like 160 at the wall... iirc...

I have never seen a value and still dont.
Until I can actually do something useful with it easily, I will not use it. I guess I fall into the nearly 100% of all people and just dont get it. So far, the only people I know who accept it do so at an extreme disadvantage to me with the highest amount of risk with nearly zero reward. When someone tells me they only want BTC, I run for the hills.

Take it all back... checked notes..

3x Nvidia @ 267W /3 = 89W

Vega 56/64 pulling ~205W each..

The 160W in my head was coming from all the tards online saying they could get Vegas down to 160W @ 2k hash on Monero.

We were asked about making a Cryptocurrency section ages ago, if memory serves I think I was practically the only person who thought it was not worth it. Glad to see I was right as usual

I can get way better hash per watt on 1070 if I drop voltage down to 0.65 and set core around 1250mHz and Memory around 4500mHz. Can get 80w or less @ around 29MH/s stable.

The P104-100's are made to be stuck in P-State 8. Nvidia Inspector & Nvidia Profile Inspector doesn't recognize them to be able to force them into P-State 0. I had to modify the Nvidia Driver changing all the lines in the nv_dispi.inf file for the P104-100 to match the lines in the GTX 1070 lines unlocking the P104-100 and tricking the driver into thinking its a GTX 1070. It's the same driver hack that allows the P106 to render video through CPU passthrough.

I couldnt find one thing online about getting Nvidia Inspector to work with the P104... That one I had to figure out myself, not saying Im the 1st to do it.... Just no info online to say it's even possible to do.

Only had the P104's for a few weeks so I'm sure I can do better if I tried.

Are your 1070Ti's dual 8-pin or single 8-pin? I can get 33.5 MH/s @ < 98w stable on my 9x Zotac 1070Ti's with dual 8-pin. You should ditch MSI AB if all your cards are Nvidia in the rig and try Nvidia Inspector & Nvidia Profile Inspector. You can run the OC after the DAG is created using a batch script with 30 second delay too for more stability.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining...r_to_properly/

Code:
@echo off
echo NvidiaInspector will enable Over Clock in 30 seconds...
timeout /t 30
start C:\Users\Miner03\Desktop\nvidiaInspector.exe -lockVoltagePoint:0,700000 -setBaseClockOffset:0,0,80 -setMemoryClockOffset:0,0,500 -setPowerTarget:0,100 -setTempTarget:0,0,80 -setFanSpeed:0,-1
FYI: Nvidia cards are forced into P-State 2 in Compute.
Yes, I have a Kill-A-Watt... But using Kill-A-Watt to get GPU power draw isn't going to be correct. Motherboard, RAM, & CPU use power too. You can get total power draw of a rig that way tho. Plus I'm on 220v using a Tripp-Lite PDU with female C-13 plugs so Kill-A-Watt does me no good.

That's cool... added in the GPU ID into the driver file?

Single 8-pin EVGA's. Were most abundant on ebay last year so prices were lowest. Went gaming GPUs over dedicated for resale value.

Yea, OC software like AB faster IMO for testing hash rates and stability. The miners set the GPU parameters, core clock, mem clock, fan speeds, etc.

Using Claymore cuz iirc had lowest dev fee... by 0.5% or maybe 1%, dont remember

But XMR-Stak gets best hash rates, separates threads in the AMD cards and mines on each. Beats cast-xmr by like ~200-300 hash + most support, updates. Developer gives you option to recompile it with 0% dev fee, nice guy..

Forcing P-State makes a big difference? Always figured it would be dependent on how much over/under clock was set on the card.... i.e. wouldn't draw more power than needed by the clocks.
