Default eBay auction going really high - What should I do?

Hello,

I setup a stealth eBay/PayPal 15 days ago and made a few sales (Only average 5$ each) but I have this auction that is going over 1600$ currently and it ends today.

What should I do? I was never expecting that amount. PayPal will for sure limit my account with an amount like that.

Any suggestions?

This doesn't mean anything unless the buyer is going to pay you.

Usually, in my experience when an auction goes crazy high like that, it usually indicates a scam buyer. Does the bidder have zero or low feedback? If so, you should be asking a lot of questions.

There's 2 users bidding high and one has 148 feedback and the other has 1293 so I think they're legit. I hope I don't get Fcked by PayPal...

let it run. If he doesn't pay in the end, offer the item to the 2nd bidder.

My concern is more if the buyer does pay PayPal will limit my account. I don't how how I can get around that. 1600$+ on a 15 day old account doesn't sound good.

Cancel his bid and block him. Both of them. If you're so worried about it...

LOL tell me what you are selling that goes that high, I listed a patch set one time on a relatively new account that I expected to go for $100 and bid got up to $350 so I was worried but ebay stepped in and removed the listing so I didn't have to worry .

why should Paypal limit your account.
it would be withheld either by Ebay or PAYPAL until tracking shows it has been delivered, then 3 days later you will have access to it
what is the item

Unless the item you are selling is not legit or high risk, I would let it run.

I had some collectible items I would buy for less than $10, and every once in awhile they would go well past $300 or $400 on a good auction run. Some buyers are oblivious to what those same items sold for on other listings, or simply don't care. It happens.

Let it ride. I'd take a 1600 risk over losing a 15 day old account. If it gets limited, you can get the documents needed to get it back up and running. Keep us posted!

The whole idea of auction is the chase, you never know how much is the final bid.
Ebay encourages auction to lure the bidders ,so if a collectible ended up far far higher than the open bid, this is nothing new to Ebay,in fact it makes Ebay Ebay!
A few hundred dollars for a rare collectible is nothing new,if it goes to 4-5 figures, then you wonder if these guys are really going to pay you.

Did you try to withdraw or print label using the funds from that payment?

What are your selling limits currently on your eBay account?
You'll have to give PayPal the documents they want from you.
