Default How is a suspension due to inauthenticity triggered?

On eBay, the rights owner must file a report in order for a listing to get taken down, if an account get reported multiple times, it will be toasted.

From the posts I see online, it seems that such suspensions are triggered differently when it comes to Amazon. Does Amazon suspend an account even though no listings on that account got reported by anyone? What is the factor that triggers Amazon asking for invoices? Is it negative customer feedback/complaints or is it reports from rights owners?

There are many reasons as to why amazon would suspend account for “inauthenticity”

They are doing more and more reviews asking for invoices for certain items you sell to demonstrate authenticity happens on new accounts a lot.

Also can happen from buyer complaints (usually several)
A report from the right owner usually suspends the account for “intellectual property right violation/ infringement violations.

Both types of suspension will ask for invoices and I refinement will ask for a retraction if the report from the rights owners

If anyone needs help please feel free to pm me

Does Amazon suspend accounts based on items sold in the past? For example:

In Dec/2018, an Amazon account was used to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items. That process went smoothly and nothing came out of it and the sale of foo-foos was halted by the seller afterwards to avoid potential trouble

From Jan/2019 till today, the account has been used to sell zero risk items (1$ shop items...etc).

Could the account in the above example be suspended for the items sold in Dez/2018 even though no reports of inauthenticity were filed by rights owners? In other words, does Amazon sweep the market and pick accounts randomly asking for invoices for past sales? Or is that thing exclusive for active listings?

it has be known to happen, happened to me personally, but in that case they would likely just remove that ASIN for your inventory with an option to appeal.

If you have stopped selling that product in December, its very unlikely you will get any issues now

account has cooled down and your not putting any risky items for sale then you should be fine
