Can we talk about the latest info on PayPal tax limits?

When do you guys usually see the requests? Do accounts come back online the next year? (My understanding is they did before, but not anymore)? The only way past these limitations is with real info?


I myself have never got one of these requests. I generally stop selling around 180 items and am well past 20k $ at that point. I know some people get the request very early, but I have not seen that happen personally.

Any info on this topic would be appreciated.

Apparently not anymore. I'm one of the people who was saying last year that tax limited accounts would reset in 2019 because that's how it happened for me in 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015. But it didn't happen this year.

The only sound solution is adding an EIN and upgrading to business. In years past people were saying they were able to add a phony SSN and keep selling up to the point where their 1099k was rejected by the IRS for an invalid tax ID. I've never been suicidal with my accounts so I'm not sure if that still works in 2019.

Yeah. If it's just a standard tax limitation the only change to your account is you lose the ability to receive payments. Withdrawing isn't affected.

Paypal does not just look at the payments you received,it would look at the listings you have for sale on Ebay ,you own website,or other venues to gauge the chances you would be getting a 1099k.
also from what you are selling,if they are brand new from manufacturers you can order more or used items from grandma's attics or garage sales
