Default Import worries

Hello, I am currently starting to import and i am a bit worried after all those seizures. I got custom clearance delay status on my shipment last week. I contacted the courier and they asked me to provide the information if the shipment is for business use, my business name and EORI number. I got the custom duties and VAT invoice and paid the but it still haven't cleared. I have a couple of more packages coming and some of them have some branded items ( it is not a famous brand, a chinese niche brand ). Is there something to worry about? I realised that the branded shipment may be problematic after i placed the order. Is it wise to contact HMRC for advice and if i can cancel the order before it enters the UK? What is the worst thing that can happen if my goods get seized?
