Not to mention some of these clowns are pretty stupid. The guy above sent a receiver to seller with a serial number on it. He likely got this originally from direct dealer. Obviously you are not going to pursue this for $14. But if you wanted to, he has given you everything needed short of an affidavit confessing the crime....The buyer is no criminal mastermind here!
I do recall reading a couple years ago someone tried that with a $1500 laptop. Sent back his old one that appeared to fall into a lake or something. Laptop was bought by buyer and registered. Seller perused and buyer was charged by police. I cant remember with what. But what a moron
yeah i just listed the one he swapped out back on ebay if im luck i might get 10 bucks out of it.

Guys you don't understand. EBay does this, because if it was the other way around and sellers had the upper hand, you would see buyers leave in droves.
Why would a buyer stick around if they were not protected? A majority of buyers are legitimate, it's only that... 15% or so that are sick disgusting people that scam sellers.
EBay needs buyers more then it needs sellers. Sellers will come because of the buyers, eBay doesn't care about sellers. Buyers will come because of eBay. If they find eBay to be a safe and secure location where the chances of being scammed to be slim.. they stay and spread the good word... etc. With that obviously comes lots of scammers taking advantage of the situation.
I sold a derict tv dvr 3 weeks ago and buyer emails me and says it dosent work and he cant use it with he service and demands a refund of $14 which is what he paid so i told him to send it back well 2 days ago it came but it was no dvr it was his old derict tv box he did a switch a roo on me and got a refund. lucky it was $14 but if it was something high $ i wouldnt had let this go so easy.
wow! why did he bother scamming you out of $14, some people just have waaay to much time on their hands.....also he had to pay for shipping it to you so his "profit" was very small.....you should contact ebay though and tell them that the buyer did a switch on you....ebay probably will make a note in that buyer's account and if ebay sees a lot of the same complaint, they may suspend the buyer...
