Default Buyer asking to refund postage costs to return the item.

Hello guys, i wanted to ask how do you deal with customers asking you to refund the additional costs to return your item as well? I am affraid that if i don't do this i will receive negative feedback. Also i not keen on doing it, because the customer is ........ b.stard and he was haggling with me .

Avoid negative at all costs, sometimes in business make a sacrifice and return him the postage costs...Will save you losing 1% feedback rating.

Make the buyer happy.

A haggling buyer is one who leaves negatives.... try to repair the damage or expect a negative.

Often such buyers leave negatives in any case. Just because they can. Thanks ebay (bar stewards )

ask him (in a nice way) to return the item and you will refund in full (inc postage) and you will also send him a little something to show appreciation for finishing the transaction on good terms,

i did this loads and believe me,give a dog a bone and you got a friend 4 life

the item i sent only cost me a £1 but they were worth alot more but i sacrificed the possible profits to avoid the almost guaranteed negative feedback they were gonna hit me with

never had a neg(i lie,i had one but that was a mis-placed item) and i still sent her the item, refunded and sent her 7x the £1 item....i did mess up though.....
in this business things don't always go your way ,you have to take some licks now n then, its how you take the licks that will prove to be whether you can keep accounts in good standing

and not how much you can sell a week or how much feedback you can get

treat your customers how you want to be treated,if that fails then, bribe them LOL

I get this also even though I have in my listing that buyers pays all return postage.

The so called professional buyers have figured out all they have to do is say it is not as described and eb will take their side.

Pay it and move on.

I don't mind paying them the additional costs to return the item, but my problem is that this person is asking to receive the refund first and then send the item back. I am confused as once i was scammed this way and never get my item back. Also in my selling experience
i have a neg from a buyer asking for absolutely the same even when i offered him to pay all costs. They just want their refund first.

wrong. dont do this. either pay the return postage yourself, or refund him the postage when you receive it. do not give him his refund first. even ebay doesnt expect you to do that

agreed, when you take a parcel back to your local store, they expect the article first then they refund you. Ebay wont expect you to refund him first, he is just being difficult. Only refund the buyer after you receive the returned item.

If you still get no luck, i would contact ebay so that they know your story.

It is amazing what some buyers do these days!!!

I just received a msg which says that they have diferent rules on ebay.de where i am selling the most. To be honest i don't care ,because as i said i've been scammed before doing the things their way and i will not do that again. Yes, buyers are getting more and more arrogant, abusive and rude and it's getting very difficult to deal with them.

I dont issue any refund until I get the item back.

I recently had some nut buyer tell me to make sure I send them an additional 5.00 for their re packing and handling fee.

Can you believe it, now buyers want a packing handling fee.

Amazing.

I guess they see this as a 5.00 profit. Do this all day long and you can scam sellers out of a ton of money.

Not yet.

I just got an email from the idiot telling me if I did not pay him for his time that he would ruin my perfect 100% account with a nice fat negative.

How nice they are now threatening to leave negatives.

I thought buyers were not allow to threaten negatives????

I usually play nice and just refund their money to keep them happy but this idiot is now sending me cursing messages and demanding that I respond.

He said if you are running a business then you need to have 24-7 support to address problems.

Amazing.

This might be one I take off my nice face and play the game on.

5 messages in the last 10 minutes from this jerk.

Last one said he was not going to put up with any "seller bull****" and demands I pay him for his item, return shipping and for his time.

yeah this guy is a bully sandy

i always treat buyers with respect, but when they start taking advantage then i turn on the, what i like to call the "the mistaking kindness for softness mode" and let them know that i am fair, but not a mug.......

these types do not know the word "reason"

normally they come with the threats if they dont get their own way and then you play the blackmail card

always try to resolve n a nice way but some ppl dont understand that language so then you gotta talk to them using their language

you are well within your right to request a return before refunding, you are not breaking any rules and who gives a flyin f*ck what his ebay policys are,ebay.com is the daddy and they set the standards so

dont back down, see it through and report him to ebay.com and his own ebay for threatening behaviour etc

what a tool
