Talking Isn't amazing what some people buy?

A couple of weeks ago I was having a conversation with one of my buddies and the topic came up how you can sell almost anything on eBay... He didn't believe me and we made a bet, I don't like to gamble but I know through years in eBay that with enough time you can get anything sold if you are patient enough, so I did...

The bet was he would pick a local retailer, pick an item and I would have to have it sold for a profit within 30 days... Well long story short he picked a particular weird mirror we found at Walmart for 19.99, I went ahead and listed it as a BIN for 99.99 just to have some fun, for the first 15 days and I had a couple of watchers but it wouldn't sale, I decided to put it on sale for 75.99, and I really did forget about it until last night 1 hour before my BIN listing ended someone bought it! I couldn't believe it but I guess I proved my theory and did win a whole night of free drinks.... Andddd found a new item to list.

I really hope that some of you that are struggling or thinking on "what should I sell?" really just pick a couple of items and give them a run, you really will be surprised what people will buy at ridiculous prices!

The story was real entertaining. I always did like fiction.

Well, everyone has their own opinion, I don't have the need for fiction since I'm not selling anything here, I know some stuff I sell that I import that have crazy profit margins as well and I wouldn't pay a penny for it! But some people just do...

heres a story for you.
i was after something once on ebay (cant remember what it was now) but i asked the seller why was his price so high about 90.99 but a few weeks ago he was selling it for only 1.99 and he replied saying hes ran out of stock so hes put the price up until he gets more stock in and then hell reduce it again.
im sure you know what i mean as most people now do.
anyway
when i was selling the original housing cases for the psp 2003 for 6 pound and when i ran out of stock i put it upto 30 pound so nobody would buy them.
i was amazed when i looked at my sales again in a few days to see i had sold 6 at 30 pounds.
yet other people were still selling them 5 or 6 pounds.

ive also sold a left wellie to a one legged buyer who only wanted me to send the left wellie to save on postage.

a 3 seater settee that was ripped to shreds by the dog for buyer offered me 10 pounds if they collected it. (council said they would charge me 50 pounds to collect it if i didnt get rid of it in less than a week)

also a baby bath full of holes that was now going to be used as a dog bed

finally
a shed with no roof or 2 walls.
so yes people do buy crap lol

Lol, not an eBay story, but here on craigslist similar to your dog bed story, some guy bought a broken personal fridge from my sister to use it as a shelter outside for his small chihuahua, amazing the crap people do buy!

check out Craigslist, I was in London a couple of months ago and used it successfully to sell an iPhone I brought from the states

As far as pre paid card, I'm not sure what you are trying to do? PM me if you need some help, but if you are trying to get back in eBay successfully you definitely need to read the stealth guide.

Yes, I agree that we can sell lots of thing on eBay, some of them don't even make any sense. For example, I used to sell Kindle, even at higher price than Amazon, but people STILL buy them. I have no idea why, but that income stream last a while until it died out.

hi again
ive just had a look at craigslist i never realised it was in the uk too.
as for the prepaid cards.
ive got and read the stealth guide over and over again.
i created a stealth account up 5 days ago and started selling again but stupid me phoned ebay up to get my account limit lifted as i only had 1 stealth account.
and now theyve limited my account and asked for proof of id and address etc.
i can get this but itl cost me 45 pounds which is a lot when im skint and there is only 10 pounds in my ebay account but if thats what it takes to get it up and running again then im going to have to pay.
but what i was getting at was if i want to create another stealth account up then i need another new bank account setting up.
i have other 1000 products to sell as there taking up a full bedroom and the wifes going mental and is threatening to bin it all so i was thinking of setting up 5 stealth accounts up for now to spread it all out.
so does that mean i need to open 5 new real bank accounts up with 5 debit cards or 1 bank account with 5 pre paid cards.
other users are saying they have mulitiple ebay accounts so lets just say 30 as an example
so does that mean they have 30 different bank accounts too.
if i look on google on applying to open a bank account up online i can only find about 10 banks so how are other people managing to open more than 30 lol.

years ago, my brother put a a listing for an 'autographed picture of Me' in this listing it said he would send and signed photo of himself with no other info. I want to say he sold it for $75.00 and got positive feedback.

you will get better answers if you start your own thread maybe in the uk section.
This thread is not about opening accounts.
