I listed an item on eBay last month for the first time in 20 years and wow was I shocked at the fees and shipping costs. I was also shocked to learn that I was charged a fee on my shipping costs. My item sold for 10.00 and between eBay and PayPal, I only ended up with around 6.50. I only wish to list a few small items now and then such as games, action figures, tools etc. Is there an easy way without all the BS?

aint no BS,it helps Ebay and Paypal pay their bills.
Ebay charges 10-12% FVF on both item and shipping, once upon a time,FVF is on item only, but smart ass sellers will sell an item for 99 cents and charge 65 shipping.
so now FVF is split between item and shipping.
Paypal has a micro account ,6 cents transaction fee and 6% if you sell low price items.not sure if it works well for $10 item.if you sell for 10 and end up with 6.50,you must be offering free shipping, try raising the asking price ,say 13.95.

You can accept cash, check, money or postal order,no tracking is needed, listing fee is like a nickel,FVF is like 5%.
take a look at micro payment 6 cents and 6%,so Paypal fee is 66 cents for a $10 item,

no stealth, you apply for a Paypal MC debit card,AND GOSHOPPING,Paypal will take the money from your PAYPAL fund, then bank account, and give you a cash rebate of 1%,afterall it is not advancing you any money for your purchase it is your money used to payfor the item.
but it wont work on stealth,it needs a real address and SSN

So, thats why I dont feel comfortable ever linking my SSN to PP now or ever. |

Well, some I suppose. Mostly genuine antique silver coins, sometimes video games, maybe the problems started after my GF wanted to sell some purses she doesn't use, those were branded.. hm. But they sold fine, Used, etc.. no problems until one negative feedback. The paypal(s) then followed suit.
We had and used one account for years no problem, then made another after a feedback scam had us limited and it was quite easy to scale up again, but that was late 2019 through mid 2020.
Seems like eBay setup a stupid security system.
So the best way to pay fees on a stealth account is... NOT Vanilla Visa, but a VCC with your Zipcode, correct?

Hi
you can Offer free shipping( so you don't pay fees on shipping cost)
Offering free shipping can be a great way to attract buyers and increase your sales. However, it's important to factor in the cost of shipping when you're setting your selling price.
