Default ebay uses the new technology to identify the same device.

I have been selling on ebay since 2002. I create many ebay accounts. I found some accounts have been linked to a few years old accounts. I did many tests, new Residential IP, new PayPal account, new email, new computer, new MAC addresses etc. But eBay still can see some related info.

I found now eBay can identify the computer device. Like google.
When you use a new device to login to ebay, you will receive an email.

"New sign-in activity on your eBay account
Hello,
We noticed recent sign-in activity on your account using a new device.
Signed in since
06-Feb-2021 06:30
Device
Windows (Chrome 88.0)
Approximate location
Pinner, Greater London, United Kingdom
If this was you, you’re all set.
If this wasn’t you, please change your password immediately."

That means, eBay will store all the devices you used to login to the account.
So that you can easily be linked.

That's because you're unwittingly linking your accounts. You're only just realising eBay's ability to link accounts, but this information is better than a decade old.

eBay cannot identify your computer like google, and you can run 100 eBay accounts on a single PC and make them all look like they're on different PCs in the eyes of eBay. eBay cannot see your MAC address; no websites can. In Microsoft IE + ActiveX days, yes, but currently ActiveX is dead, so that's no longer possible.

It would do you good to read the stealth guide as there's clearly more catching up for you to do.

The days of new windows user for accounts are over, you have to take a step forward OP. I make business accounts on the regular but it took me a while to find out exactly how they're tracking and how to fool them. Doesn't matter because the chinese won't allow me to sell anything or make any money.

Because they ship from Hong Kong themselves or have ex-pat Chinese in the UK acting as fulfilment centres for them

They also use UK sellers who sell on their behalf for commission

They have no need to discount their prices which would affect their own sales

Dead sneaky these Chinese

Don't sell generic items and you'd not have to bother about the Chinese or anyone else trying to undercut you.

You don't have to come up with new ideas. Pick any generic item with high-volume sales on eBay or Amazon, improve its defects and add more features (using data from customers' complaints), brand it with intellectual property rights; i.e. trade secrets, copyrights, patents or trademarks - depending on what it is you're selling. That will cost money, of course. But the payoff is you can peg your prices however high you wish, as you'd have no competition.

Another option is an exclusive distribution license. This may cost you less $$$ as you'd share licencing costs with your manufacturer.

Anytime you get a vero takedown on eBay and you know you weren't selling stuff belonging to a big brand; it's probably one of these folks running you aground.

only because you do not know about it it does not mean it is new.

Ebay uses WebGL and Canvas fingerprint.

install canvas fingerprint defender and you will see whenever you visit ebay it will give you a warning that ebay try's to take fingerprints:

you will get the same values if you use the same device even if you reinstall windows.

https://browserleaks.com/webgl
https://browserleaks.com/canvas

you have to spoof your fingerprints to avoid beeing detected:

safest way would be to exchange video card and reinstall windows or use spoofing software:

kameleo.io
clonbrowser.com
ivanovation.ro

here you can see which possible fingerprints exist and your browser leaks all of that about you:
ivanovation.ro/modules/

I am not sure how effective those spoofers are. only thing I know is that kamelo spoofs the font, wbgl, canvas, timezone, resolution fingerprints quite well. Google detcts that they are spoofed. but you can protect from ebay this way.

Alternative is to use firefox and disable webrtc webgl and canvas (this cant be done in chrome). It is a budget way but it will disable the most common fingerprints

If eBay cannot identify your computer like google, how does eBay know you signed in from a new device?

Simple, they see the cookies they leave in your browser, if a new device logs in then it can not see the last cookie it left. Also different IP address if applicable.

However if you use a couple or 3 PC,s they do not see them as new as the cookies on them will match from previous logins.

Check your work. Did you accidentally log into the wrong account from the wrong IP? Was your VPN turned off? I've never seen any emails like this from eBay before.

Cookies won't have anything to do with it. If you open an incognito browser and log into ebay you won't get that message.

If you borrow your friends cell phone and log into eBay I don't even think you would get this message. Maybe something new.

it's a new message
I think it is not that the accounts are being linked
This message appeared to me when I entered one of the ebay accounts again after a long time
How did I delete the cookies in my last session
it is simply that they do not detect those cookies and it seems like a new device
this has been happening for a long time in Gmail and others
when entering from another device
I just think it is that ebay now sends this message when it does not detect the previous cookies

you can do the test
delete cookies when logging out
and i think ebay will resend the same message
as it happens in Gmail accounts and others
