Default Spoof Bidders Wrecking My Business

For the last two weeks all of my items on all of my accounts are being spoof bidded up to massive prices. Bids take place in last few seconds and always in pairs. All of the spoof bidder accounts are made in Germany during the summer of 2005 and have zero feedback. Two or three days later my selling accounts get suspended MC081.
HELP PLEASE any advice would be gratefully received.

You need to set your account to blocking them. I suggest you bookmark this thread for future reference. Hope it goes someway to fixing this rubbish for you

These have been with me for several months, and I have no way to deal with them. They are Australia zero feedback buyers. Look like this becomes popular on ebay.

Hi i have blocked all the ones that are bidding on my items but ever time they bid on new stuff with new accounts. Carn't think where they are getting so many old accounts from. They are not bidding with the same account twice just using new account to spoof. I think they are also using a spoof bidding system as the 2 bids come in seconds before the auction ends so you carn't cancel the bids.
Really am at a loss as to know what to do as you carn't restrict 0feedback bidders anymore

We don't know who they are. Actually they are not individuals!!! They are an organization. I am not sure they do this against ebay or against xxxx products. They bid on so many products with so many new ids. They should have a team dedicated to work on this.

I will tell you all exactly who it is.....

CHINESE idiots trying to get email addresses of sellers for marketing purposes...

There a real pain, out bidding genuine buyers and always purchasing more than 1 item. We should start a name and shame thread for the chinese sites that resort to this bullsh1t marketing...

Since you can not block 0 feedback bidders, there are only 2 ways to deal with them.
You have to set up a Buy it Now, with paypal required and immediate payment required.
Or you have to manually end the auction and sell to the highest bidder at a random time 10 minutes before the scheduled closed. You can put it you ad "because of deadbeat bidders this auction will end within 10 minutes of its scheduled ending time. So if you are interested please bid early."
Then with about 10 minutes left to go, you check the feedback of the current high bidder and second highest, and if they are 0 feedback or suspicious you can remove and block his bid. Just keep removing bids to you get to a bidder you trust and then you manually end the auction and sell to the highest with 2 minutes left to go.
You might get a little less for your product, but they usually stop harassing you when their bids keep getting canceled or they miss the end of the auction.

True they are a pain in the a$$... they must have thousands of stealth accounts and use them on a 12 month rotation system and wait for the non paying bidder notices to go. it will be hard to stop them especially for us sellers on our own but thinkin about it ebay could easily if they wanted to, they must use Chinese ip addresses to do there dirty work.

From my experience there always brand new accounts..

sandiepiggott: Your case looks more like a competitor whos figured out that doing this rather than reporting will almost guarantee major problems for your account..

Just change your buyer requirements to bidders with PayPal account only. At least that'll eliminate some of them as PayPal has a limit on number of accounts one can link.

Interesting ponit about Chinese trying to get email addresses. However, no spam emails have yet been received in these accounts.
All I can think of is it is competitors or vandalism! I have heard before about powersellers doing this. If it is vandalism, I wish they would get bored!

As far as I know, when you buy something from a seller you will not automatically receive the sellers email address?

These 0 feedback acc's always ask how much for 5/10 items and will also include an email address for you to reply to.

For the past few weeks I noticed this has been happening under the Electronics section.
Someone with 0 feedback bidding 400+ on small electronic products. Just block 0 feedback bidders from bidding, that's all.

I too have seen this for a long time now, accounts from all over the world, I also thought that there was a small chance that they were just guys trying to get your info so that they could Sell you something, or outright Steal your money.
I also noticed that it happens mostly with Electronics listings, which further makes me think that it is just an outright Scam.

I also think that it could also be Straight Up Ebay Haters, (We KNOW that there is a lot of those) Simply just trying to mess with Ebay, and we Just get caught in the middle, which suxs cause it brings unwanted HEAT on our accounts.

It might Even be Ebay where these accounts are some type of bot designed to seek certain items from the outside (Buyers) side to help cover any loopholes their bots have on the inside of their system. After all Ebay can create as many accounts, from anywhere in the world with any creation date they want. Also, it was Ebay that stopped sellers from blocking 0 feedback Bidders from bidding on our listings--WHY?

It could a Combination of all of the above and more.

I also think that Paypal linking as riversnew posted above in this thread helps

Who Knows?
