Beatles and ac-dc in the same sentence sounds odd doesnt it? but works for me also! |

One for history buffs.
Was in Berlin for the taking down of the cursed wall in 1989.
Went back in 1990 and saw the concert in the above movie live. | The Following User Says Thank You to GreenBean For This Useful Post: | |

Yes you are.
Went to see Fleetwood Mac in the mid 80s as a teen and never forgot how crisp sounding the were. Like magic.
Slim, what is your fav song, band, type of music?

In the original song by Rocko, Rick Ross stirred a lot of controversy with his Molly lyrics. He lost his Reebok backing when he did not respond well to the controversy.
I like the beat though |

Grew up in a family that loved music

I was around 10 or so and my older siblings listened to this music a lot and it stuck with me.
Remember one of my older sisters being crazy about the Bee Gees.
As I got older I found myself listening to more 78-84 music then anything that was done in the mid to late 80's.
For me that group of bands, singers talent from the late 70s to the mid 80s cannot be touched. Quote:

Sandy that may have been the "Last Hurrah" for talent,,,Sooooo Much has changed since then,,,the Biggest Change was MTV,,It got so bad by the 90's that MUSICAL Acts had to have MORE Talent LOOKING good than SOUNDING good,,,TOTALLY ABSURD,,,,if the Rolling Stones began in the 90's, chances are that because the band was VISUALLY unappealing, they might have never made it, can you even fathom that thought,, I mean lets face it, without the Fame,,Mick Jagger Would have spent MANY a Lonely night,
Then all those Remixes, for EVERY Song, there was a Mix that Fit EVERY Musical Taste, Dance Versions, Rock Versions, ect, ect, Sh^t it even got to the point that Hard Driving Dance mixes were made out of BALLADS like Celine Dions, My Heart Will go On, all that served to do was allow record companies to make more money from 1 Song, There by NOT investing or taking a chance on other songs, or artists, do you have any ides how much GREAT Music goes completely Unheard by the Majority of the Public?,,it is almost Criminal,,,
There was a WHOLE Lot more, and NONE of good, but thats life,,

Sure many talk about Janet and Michael, the big air bands etc being the best of 80's but still they do not compare to those on my list that made the best music ever. No time period will ever or has ever touched the music of that period of late 70s to early 80s in my opinion.
Some great songs, bands before and after but nothing like a large group like we had during those times. These bands, singers etc were and are icons today. Something we wont find in 1990s-2000s music much at all.
