I would recommend adsense, and you could use popups but it is not recommended, as you could drive some traffic away. If your platform could use it, a URL shortener would not be a bad idea.
If your traffic is mostly mobile, you should monetize with game installs and maybe add in a feature where they have to complete an offer in exchange for cheats in the games.
