Haven't had a salary in years but it was less than the average when I was employed.

Being on salary made me super depressed when I realized how much I was making was because of my age, not how I was contributing.

It's actually quite difficult for 16-19yr olds to make $422 per week consistently since most of them are still in high school. I considered myself fortunate to be making $400/wk at that age. Now the government is telling me I was actually making less than everyone else my age back then.

Says it's based on a 117m people survey.. assuming the people in states with higher costs of living have skewed the numbers. That is a small sample group comparitely though.. wish they would say what states they surveyed and how many per.

I made minimum wage at 16 lol - like 7 bucks an hour. For data to be accurate they're making about 13-14hr after deductions. That is nuts.

Haven't received a wage in about 11 years. I remember my feeling of indignity when I saw how much they took from my salary for taxes, and then turn on the TV and see what they spend it on.

I was always the intrepid type, and was my dream to make a decent UK based salary but be able to work from anywhere and travel at will. Luckily I achieved it, earning a decent UK income much better for me when in some other cool country where things are many times cheaper and the sun is shining
