Discover card!

 I heard starting this month till end of this year, if you spend $1500 each month on this card, you will get $250 cash back form discover. It seems a great deal, who can't spend more than $1500 on credit card per month. Sounds easy :)

Nephilim 09-10-2010 07:36 PM

Sounds good to me! :peace:

MadSam 09-10-2010 07:40 PM

I recommend Discover Card.

First Edition 09-11-2010 12:43 AM

a lot of vendors don't take discover.... but jeez, don't you think you'll just end up buying 250 more worth of junk getting to that 1.5k goal?

Hercules 09-11-2010 08:14 AM

you can buy money orders at walmart, then deposit them later. The perfect circle.

poorgirl 09-11-2010 10:33 AM

I transfer all my household bills directly charge on discover card, such as water bill, phone bills, cable bill, pg&e............whatever I can do to make my spend $1500 each month.

If you have $1500 in bills and expenses every month, spend that $250 on your business :)

i don't think you can buy money orders via credit card, only debit cards.
someone correct me if i'm wrong

MadSam 09-22-2010 10:19 PM

I think you can.

art888 09-23-2010 05:59 PM

Nope you cant buy money orders with credit cards and that goes for lottery tickets also. charge backs thats why

First Edition 09-29-2010 02:23 PM

the RISK of chargeback fraud... also, the cost of processing the money

If you use a discover card to purchase a 1000 money order, the store just lost 50 dollars, for no reason.

Hercules 09-29-2010 05:36 PM

You guys are right. But they take debit cards (Walmart) though. I guess it's harder to chargeback a debt card?

First Edition 09-29-2010 05:40 PM

a debit is a direct debit from a bank account, and cannot be charged back in the same way, that is why it requires your PIN, you had to authorize it

Also, bank fees are much, much cheaper with a debit.

Hercules 09-29-2010 05:44 PM

That's right they want the pin. But i still bought money orders.

What about regular giftcards that say debit on the them, i never get asked for those?

First Edition 09-29-2010 05:45 PM

that's different... you don't understand

You can't pay for the money order if you use that same bank card and process as a credit card, or at least they're not supposed to. A debit is a different kind of transaction, you're basically writing a check at that point, but it's instant.

Do you realize the last post was over 2 years ago? Might want to check that the offer still stands

JJGold 12-25-2012 05:05 PM

Makiv94 is the RSOT of south east Asia. He must have replied to 30 threads earlier today. I'm sure he means well but has been dispensing some questionable advice.

GreenBean 12-25-2012 05:11 PM
