Recommend website for stock trading and few tips.

Looking to buy some stock in particular company ( I'm all set on that ).

Probably around 5k-10k to start. So, not much.

Whats a good website to do that, and how does it work exactly. Ideally something with minimal fees.

How do I fund the buying of stocks? ( Credit/Debit, Wire Transfer, etc. )

Do I need a dedicated bank account for it?

Thanks,

https://www.tdameritrade.com/home.page is a good site to work with.

You fund with bank transfer in most likelihood.

Do you use it or did you google it?

'in most likelihood' is a bit off in terms of giving advice.

I have used it - friends in US also used it.

I was told that forex trading is better than stock/share trading.

However you do need to be clued up with what's going on across the world

Forex trading is not "better" - it takes more experience - it can be VERY risky if you have no idea what you are doing.

The other thing with forex is you should NOT be holding it for long time...many stocks you can hold for long time.

If sounds like you are looking to trade with a discount broker. Personally I use tdameritrade. Some people use sharbuilder I think the fee per transaction is a bit less. Some like scottrade. I mean Google discount broker and really take your pick. You can usually look up the fees and all that. Just try to decide what is best for you.

Went with Scottrade. They also have local branches here.

Sure - I bought a 100 facebook stock way back in November 2014 - with the recent increasing, I made a nice bundle :)

Don't scare me, I am worried about an account "Below Standard" to what will happen in November 2014.

I hope we are not talking about the future already!

Thanks,

Such an old thread..

You open a brokerage account through a company like TD Ameritrade or Vanguard, fund your account and allocate funds to a index fund, add money overtime and that's how you invest. I suggest index funds because they're much safer than individual stocks which fluctuate wildly.

I pulled out all my funds a couple years ago to purchase houses (when they were cheap).. now as the stockmarket reaches record highs.. I'm interested in it again. :)
