Tophatter any good?
 

Has anyone had any experience selling on tophatter? only heard of it a few days ago, it seems pretty busy tho, Just wondered if it's worth selling on?

Best if you try it for yourself.

Different selling platforms work for different sellers depending on what they sell. What works for you may not work for someone else. i.e. eBay may be excellent in terms of sales, but not Amazon, and vice versa - but it doesn't mean either of them are no good.

It's no good:nono::nono:. I used them for over 3 years and now their policy is so ridiculous. They expect you to start all your items at $1 which put one at the risk of selling their items at a very low price below your purchasing cost. Also the charge commission on your sales price as well as the shipping cost :nono:

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY selling or buying on TopHatter! THEIR "SCHEDULING FEES" ALONE WILL DRIVE YOU INTO THRE POOR HOUSE! That's where they make you bid on each individual auction spot by specifying a maximum price per slot you are willing to pay for a single session. Then you set your max daily budget and pray. I did poorly. I lost $35 in 2 days even after making 3 sales in like 25 auction sessions. The range of "Scheduling Fees" for my product category was $0.70 - 2.03 and I got hit for 1.50 for each session.

The majority the products are Chinese garbage of the worst kind which are so cheap, you can't sell good products and expect to get a decent price. The Millenials and other fools who frequent this site are so utterly clueless about value they can't tell good from bad. But then they would have to be to shop on a site like tophatter more than twice. It would be more aptly named "TopCrapper."

So like I said, don't bother.

When I started selling on Tophatter it was a lot better, now they want people who can provide a ton of merchandise like Chinese sellers who sell junk.

I had to charge 6.99 shipping on Tophatter just to make a profit, then they bitched at me because my shipping was so high. When I told them it had to be because their fees were so high they shut up. Then they started complaining because they said my products didn't have enough sales to "hold" spots in their lives auctions and eventually found a reason to block my account. I did well on there at first, making 2000 every two weeks. Then they kept finding ways to take my spots away from me.
