Shopping Actions Google
 

So I have been uploading my products to Google merchant center to them get into the shopping results for the non paid clicks.

While looking into Google merchant center, I found a google program called shopping "actions".

Shopping actions is a program where google will basically act as your shopping cart, take the payment and then pay you after it ships. They take on average 12% of the price.

The pro is that you don't pay for the clicks, only % fee.

Once you are approved for this by Google, all of the products in your feed go into this thing.

I am apply for it tomorrow. They make you jump through a bunch of hoops though, have to send in a copy of your id, verify address, verify bank etc..

Anyone have experience with this?

With that prominent placing on the shopping results page, you would think this could dominate.

let's see if you get approved. they've been doing this for a long time but i did not know it was open to everyone yet

Interesting. do you think this would work with dropshipping? or you need fast shipping?

Interesting. I checked it out and started the app process. They do want legit details, but you can use a EIN for your business. Not sure how much this would help me though. My products come up on google and it will take you to the online platforms where they are sold.

An update, No sales yet have 500 or skus but my stuff is very long tail. I got about 60 clicks from google shopping free and made 3 sales but nothing from this yet. I will update in a month.

Google only shows this option on varying searches and never all the time.

and all you are paying is the flat commission rate? and i dont mean the free listings

An update,

I have had about 5 sales on this in the past couple of weeks. It's okay and an easy way to grab some extra sales but this not anywhere as good as I thought it would be.

Google only highlights the shopping actions listings randomly on search terms.

Imo if you are going to the trouble of puttin a feed through merchant center, you should sign up for this.

The clicks are free and they take 12% of the sale price.

12% of the sales price feels like a rip :(

The 12% includes processing the payment. So comparable to ebay.

For google ads this is a big deal. Ask anyone selling from their own website how much they pay for clicks to sell something.

The drawback of this is not the the 12%, it's that you don't get the buyer's email.

Also the 12% is on the item price before shipping.

Now that I think about it, this is a good deal, especially if you con't get a paypal or amazon pay account.

Just an update after another month. It an okay source of extra orders, but for my niche, not great.

If you have a feed in G merchant center, I say do it, but don't expect much.

For me about 10 extra order per month.
