Craigslist with links to your own websites. That is pretty easy way to market your site and makes tons of $$$$$$

Depending on product, you can move that above eBay and Amazon. Even 50/50 is sweet

Its a ton of work to get off the ground. And its a slow process to find the groove needed to reach the customers. But when you find it, it rocks.

It is a lot of work. And not as simple as adding item and you get instant traffic. But its something every serious seller should have. Hosting is cheap. Worse case the site can just sit there and sell for you every once in awhile.

Everything I sold off my site this week will not have one single customer asking for crap because they can leave feedback. Or demand faster shipping. Or any other crap we deal with on eBay. They buy, I ship, done. That alone is worth it

I advertise promotions on CL. Great for traffic. You have to weed out the scam mail. But still good for traffic for sure

As far as number 3. I think its probably still so low in traffic its not really worth it. If there was a solid #3, it would be far from a secret

buy is building up nicely but they require tax info off the bat and are strict as to who they let sell on their site.

can you provide some links to good quality but affordable web hosting. is it true one can design their own website without all the knowledge and skills that ppl claim is needed? i think I would be interested in this but there are many places to go out here for a website I don't know which one would be a good choice. any advice? what should i look for when selecting a service?
thanks

godad dy dot com seems to be simple but not the best price - free easy hosting (something like that) was better to buy a domain - then you need to buy a service host.

Ubider!? What the hell is that place? There's nothing there but the junk someone got booted from ebay for trying to sell...

Surely it should be ubidder not ubider. Although I guess you will be biding you time trying to sell there

It's not yours is it fun(n)ystore? You seem pretty keen on pushing it.

I have never found a good third place... still looking though - but too reckon having your own w/s is the way forward.

I use IOFFER for my 3rd site but it is only 5% (if that) of the sales I get on Amazon or Ebay...but over the course of the year that adds up. The problem is the site itself is JUNK and sometimes they ask for you to update credit card or something then you lose a listing or two (as it will ask you when you are in the middle of updating something) and they are gone for good! No history at all... and I've had accounts completely wiped out over basically nothing. It's a fingers crossed kinda selling but that seems to be the theme for every site (except your own) nowadays. I agree, hosting your own site rocks as you don't have to worry about annoying customers as much but I get a little nervous as there is a concrete spot where someone can take a closer look at you who is up to no good.
