Default MAJOR changes to Play.com - If you sell on there read this!

I phoned them a few days back to ask about setting up a merchant store as I wanted to know the costs. I was actually told there making major changes to the site at the moment and by the summer it will be merchant only site.

No more small sellers / pro sellers. There all being phased out and in order continue selling on there you will have to apply for a merchant store and its not cheap! Plus you have to pay 6 months upfront!

On a plus I was told it will be more like Amazon when it comes to adding products. There will be no more having to fill in the spread sheets and sent them over to get new items added to their catalogue. You will be able to add them all yourself.

What's everyone's views on this?

Is it worth the trouble? Highly doubt, sticking to what I know works until I hear proven results from others
