Best Credit Card gateway for digital goods
 

What is the best payment gateway for accepting Credit Cards?
I applied for authorize.net and checkout.com but they declined and said they want to get 6 months history because I sell digital goods which may be risky. I have less than 1% chargebacks.

So far Im using PayPal and my site is only 3 months old. And PayPal does not support all the countries worldwide.

Which are the other CC gateways to try that accept digital goods?

Many gateways seem to dislike digital goods - I tried Stripe.com about 6 months back. You could check that out as well but there are some people who have had weird experiences with them

2checkout maybe? Don't know how they are with digital goods. For what it's worth opening the payment gateway is the easy part. You're really going to have a hard time when you start trying to open the merchant account to attach to your gateway.

Honestly I think you're better off using Paypal if global reach is your goal. Accepting international payments is a nightmare on a merchant account due to the various types of cards used worldwide. It's also generally more expensive processing international payments through a merchant account, opposed to Paypal.

What are your rates like?

I've been getting a steady 4.4% after factoring discount + fees.

If you have good fraud protection Stripe is good.

Authorize.Net is a pain in the ass with not just getting approved but dealing with payments (refunds, chargebacks, basic support).

Stripe is the way to go but you have to have top notch fraud protection otherwise you could lose your account quickly.

I have really good fraud protection. :)

A mixture of manual and automated systems are in place.

Less than .5 fraud rate.
