New with a merchant account different billing and shipping?
 

So I just got setup with authorize.net a week ago.
I am getting more than 80% of my orders with different billing and shipping address, what I mean is they will have different billing and shipping address and zip code.
How do I know if its fraud as I dont want chargebacks since they acost $25 each?
We take the card numbers, exp, cvv2 so the card still might be stolen.

you don't. thats the beauty of the whole thing. go at it with your instincts. If something seems really fishy try to check up on it. call the people, if the number works see how they react to your call. theres really no way to completely protect yourself from fraud when a credit card is involved.

But the billing address passed the avs system meaning that the billing address and zip code matched there credit card so how would I determine if its a fraud order a legitimate one since the shipping address is different?

thats what I'm talking about. you'll never really know for sure. your fraud rate really will depend on what type of stuff your selling. I worked a business for 5 years bringing in 250-500k a year in credit card transactions never had a single case of fraud. We didn't even use avs check. but due to the type of business it was fraud wasn't an issue.

If your selling electronics or anything of high demand, your gonna have some fraud...
