Merchant account processing more than your monthly limit?
 

I'im still new to the merchant game. I was wondering this lets say my monthly processing limit is $5000 a month what would happen if I was to process an extra $2000 for that month? Would they just hold that money and then transfer it to my bank account next month?

they can cut off your account until the next month, or hold a chunk of money for a couple months to make sure your not running some scam on them.

Much will depend on the merchant account. Don't expect to run over the nominated monthly amount without a hold and/or review. Not dissimilar to
paypal. IF you intend doing that, then I suggest you contact your Customer Serivce rep to check their requirements.
