Default Anyone have experience with First Data as an alternative to paypal?

Okay so per my prior post, I was denied through authorize.net. So, I went to paypalsucks.com and the alternative they are recommending is First Data...I applied and was approved (everyone is, they check your credit just to verify identity, not to disprove you based on your score). Anyway, I came back to this forum to see if anyone had commented on their experience with this company but couldn't find any threads...does anyone have experience with this company? Is it better than paypal?

If you have bad credit, and everyone is approved with a service..... that service usually has a catch.

Right, there has been a lot of bad experiences with users here and First Data.

I recommend you stay away.

I have been with First Data for over a year now and love them. you have to be smart when creating an account with them and be on point with your sales tickets being monthly, average, and highest expected thats all. I always get my money and the people are very helpfull over the phone if a problem does occur.

I dont sell vero, you might have to take that into account and also maybe just ask them directly and see what they tell you, they are upfront just ask I explained to them exactly what I do and as long as the chargebacks are low its all good.

Default Never Again

I will never use them again. Processed 3 batches with them totally $5k in one weekend. They held all the funds and I had to give them info on all requested transactions. They called several customers to verify the transactions. Then when that was complete they still stated they were going to hold the funds for 30 days just in case there were any complaints. I let them know I won't ship until I get paid for the items. This took them 8 days to finally get back to me on this decision. In the mean time they had some how screwed up my checking account information and without notifying me, closed my account. I had been in daily contact with them and not once did anyone state their was an error with the checking account. I finally demanded them to refund every single customer. There response was that it would take them 2 days to even process the returns and start to apply them to customers credit cards. I was surprised by this since it only takes me 30 seconds and the customer sees it back on their card usually the next day. Needless to say, I am not nor will I every be impressed by the biggest credit card processor there is worldwide that has definitely grown out of touch with the needs of their actual customers, The Retailers. They have forgotten that without people selling things to the general public, they would have not profit or business.

If you go with First Data, read the fine print so carefully you nearly go blind. Not the nicest of companies.

I have firstdata though a fin. processing company. I have always been fine but I have never used then with ebay. I want to know which shopping cart I have to sign up with that intergrates with ebay using firstdata.

The guy at the merchant acct. company asked what Numbers I did'nt to add the Merch. acct. ? he asked for a configuration sheet and if they need an Mid or bypass number? so which shopping carts intergrate well with ebay and first data?

I have used them for several months. I only process about $100 week through them so that could be why i have not yet run into problems.

RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN. they are on ripoff report, i have personally had a terrible experience with them, and they are now in the process of trying to ruin my other business that my father and i are partners in. He unknowingly signed up for a merchant account with PNC bank and those assholes broker are basically brokering the account to first data. They are trying to do a paypal on our business telling us that we have to deliver the item then contact them, they will then call the customer to verify it was delivered, then release the money to us. I personally had a bad experience with my own personal online store where they held about 6k of my money without ANY warning at all and it took me 90 days to get it back. Trust me You do NOT want to get in bed with first data. They also go by the name of ipayments inc. Suprisingly a lot of these "merchant account" providers you find online are only brokers and will pimp your account out to first data, so whoever you end up with make sure you ask them atleast 10 times are they affiliated with firstdata or ipayments inc in any way, and do you use them as your processor.

humbolt is good and fair. So far. firstdata is all over ripoffreport and i advise anyone that is using them right now to switch they are a ticking time bomb waiting to happen just like paypal and eBay. It's not a matter of if they screw you it's just a matter of when and how hard.
