Default Looks like this is the way

Seems as though the only legal way to get fund is through a Merchant account. I already use paymentech for instore payments. I am not sure if I can use them for paypal or not.

I was looking at Auctiva, but they only accept on Merchant account and it's a $150 to sign up! They want somthing I am running out of quickly and that is money.

I then looked at CCnow, but that is $0.50 plys 5% of gross. So in that case I would be gross from Paypal right?? does that mean 10% total?? That hurts profit margins

Who has had sucess with Mrichant accounts, and how do you link them to eBay???

thank you

Auctiva is free to sign up all you need in an email address. Auctiva will work with paypal or a merchant account. You will have to sign up with paypal or a merchant account separately.

Auctiva accepts your merchant account through you authorize.net gateway only.
CCNow does not work with authorize.net and will not automate with auctiva.

You can send invoices to your customers directly from CCNOW.

I called Authorize.net and they also wanted $150 to sign up. I negotiated some and got it down to $90, but I felt that was still too much. The best way to get Authorize.net is to sign up with MerchantPlus.com as they waive the setup fee for Authorize.net! With that said. I signed up for CCNow just so I can accept PayPal payments, but I still plan to use MerchantPlus with Authorize.net as the primary gateway.

However, I am interested if anyone knows what the total percentage for accepting PayPal on CCNow is. I've heard that it is the 10% like Anttler described, and I've also heard that it is just the flat 5% - any clarification??

Yeah, sorry if my post wasn't clear enough. I was just saying that when I called Authorize.net they told me it was that expensive. But when I contacted MerchantPlus they stated that they will waive the Authorize.net setup fee, so that it is free.

So for sure go through someone else to get Authorize.net.

authorize.net gives bad rates to make you use a reseller.

HI- I can only speak from experience with ccnow.(I have back up paypal accts I use for certain auctions)-
I also have 2 merchant accts- but havent figured how to integrate them yet..
SO_ to save time--I do use ccnow..
It is NOT 10%- ITs like 4.9, but really- if you're selling a good product, making good money- 5% of even a $100 sale is only 5 bucks.. BUT--
to me.. 5 bucks is pretty cheap--to NOT have to deal with paypal direct?
No?

Thank you very much for the follow up! I wasn't sure if CCNow was being misleading, and I am so glad ot hear it is about 5%.

Once CCNow has a way to fully integrate the checkout process (once an auction ends), then most likely I will purely use them. For now I plan on trying to mostly use MerchantPlus except when the customer will only agree to PayPal.
