Google Checkout Requires Website?

I just received an email stating that I need a website URL or they will suspend my account. I don't know what to put since I don't have one. All the transactions I do are from ebay.

Any help would be appreciated!

Open a cheap website real quick and design it to mirror what you sell. Say est date is 08.2004.

Can you elaborate? It was EBAY that asked for this? What if you don't sell on a website?

I have never seen this, and also never seen a post about it,. That is why I am asking.

Is this something new?

ah... well, you did put this in the GOOGLE CHECKOUT portion of the forum....

You'll just have to make a simple website, tell them you've had it for a few years, and are paying someone to redesign it at the moment. Use homestead.com, they've got a TON of templates to use

Thank you for the help! I didn't know google would suspend you just for not having a website. I am currently working on the site, so hopefully they will accept it. :bounce:

They don't suspend for NOT having the website.... but seriously, would a legit business NOT have a web site. Just like everything else having to do with suspensions, approvals, limitations, it's based on the risk assessment team of the company. They will feel more confident in letting you use them with a website. I personally think if you don't have a website, and you say you have an online business...... well, it's like owning a race team with a horse and buggy competing. Not gonna work

Sorry about the previous post... I thought this was in the eBay section. My bad.

And its so cheap, why not have one anyway. You can have a site for $4 a month.

Even the odd sale off ebay is nice to save fees.

there making sure sales are not coming thru ebay.com so find a webstore who sells cheap website templates

I just got an email stating that my account is in adherence to their policy. I might as well keep the website up just incase something goes wrong with ebay.

All good :)

Amazon sometimes requires a website, and it certainly helps with merchant approval... Really, you should have one, even with ebay only. Why put all your eggs in one basket? It usually costs about 20 dollars a month to run, and makes you and your business look way more legit... why not?

Yes, do keep your website up, even if you don't add to it.

I use a simple 'contact me' form for mine with my business name on it. *it worked fine

A domain cost anywhere from $1 to $10 a year depending on the TLD. NameCheap is the best place to get your domain (free whois protection).

You can get cheap (and great) hosting from HostGator for I believe as low as $5 a month with their hatching package (one domain only). Upgrade to the business plan (12.95) and host unlimited websites with it.

I have three business plans at the moment running about 50-websites.

Cheap and solid service.

I was planning on purchasing the webmaster blueprint to help on the setting up the online business. Hopefully I can be able to come up with a business name that is not taken. :D
