Pre 11/07 account and accepting credit cards

hi
ive got a pre 11/07 account.
i use auctive.
when i go to list an item ive got the option to choose "merchant credit cards" in the payment section. when you click that it gives you another box which is "credit cards". I think this is the same with ebay too even if you dont use auctive.

if i choose credit cards, what happens when the buyer wins and item and checks out? do they just put their card details in and they get sent to me? i cant see how they would be able to imput their card details and be charged by a merchant account if its not actually integrated with ebay or auctiva?

i know authorize.net integrates with auctiva, but no others do as far as im aware?

so how do you use a merchant account with pre 11/07 accounts and have the customer checkout and pay?

thanks

Ha no - you don't get the customer's card details..kind of funny they way you ask =)

I believe you place your merchant processor details with it or send them separate invoice. I have to look into this - mayeb get a pre 07 to figure out myself.

You can use google checkout with cartmanager. Authorize.net with auctiva or with ebay checkout. You just need to input the API login and merchant key from authorize to integrate with ebay. So far I am using the google checkout with cartmanager on two accounts and it is doing awsome! I have merchant plus, but I am still trying to get it to work with ebay checkout. It is giving me some errors.

thanks for the info.
im not actually after getting my hands on the cc details :)

i just didnt understand what the customer got if i chose to accept credit cards.
i can see how the auctiva/authorize works and the cartmanager/google, but not how you imput authorize directly into ebay. maybe it asks you for some details when you actually list it with the credit card option? i dont have anywhere to imput the api details in ebay if i click on the credit card option.

Nephilim - when you list an item, and you are filling in payment details, i assume you click credit card. there is also a box for accepting paypal in this section. on your account can you actually list an item with the paypal box unticked and no paypal email address in the box? if so thats great, however if you have to put paypal on the lising how are you getting your customers not to pay with paypal?

ive just answered my own question.
ive tried to list an item with a pre 11/07 account without clicking on "paypal accepted" and without inputting a paypal emial address. if you try to list it gives you an error saying paypal must be accepted.

so with paypal listed as an option in the auction, and with probably nearly 99% of customers paying with paypal, how do you direct them away and have them checkout through cartmanager and not just click pay for item through ebay?

Have you got a merchant processor hooked up to the account?

It gave me the same message about paypal, but I think it is because of the categories we are trying to list in.

so did you find any way to accept credit card on you pre 11/07 account for uk ?

i also have an account 05/2006 ebay.co.uk and i want to start selling on ebay in uk with out accepting paypal can any one plz guide me plz

as far as i can tell, the paypal box always has to be filled in no matter if you have a merchant account or not. it kind of defeats the object if you still have to take paypal. customers will pay with paypal anyway.

i thought that was the whole point of ccnow? so they act as the intermediary to protect you from paypal chargebacks.
