Paying fees google checkout / pp ccard

I've tried to pay for various things and also for seller fees for my auction sites (not ebay) with google checkout using a prepaid MC, Visa and Amex as well. But most of the time google goes ahead and charges the card and then cancels the sale (keeping the funds). Does anyone know away around this?

note: it worked once for me, but I didnt do anything differently then before.
