Cartmanager is the best to avoid linking

dear folks,

1)few weeks ago i setup cartmanager with modee,
i'm using cartmanger with my previous paypal (already used with suspended account)

with cartmanager, my account didnt suspended because linking with previous account.

so, for whose want use previous merchant account or paypal, better get this cartmanager.

2) i always ask people about this cartmanager function before.
What happen if the current cartmanager we use then got suspended?
We can do we new account without linking?

the answers is YES you can.
right now i already use old cartmanager with new ebay account without linking.
This is because we can delete the authorize between our cartmanager with old ebay account.

Hope this explanation can help you guys.

I'm happy with this cartmanager right now

aspkin 01-30-2009 11:32 PM

Authorize, a token?

azlanxp 01-30-2009 11:38 PM

yes
like auctiva...but can delete the account from cartmanager after we dont want anymore

yaw1800 01-31-2009 09:36 AM

ok i agree cartmanager is great, but it doesnt stop all customers from going ahead and just paying via Paypal. Have you gotten a mercahnt account approved or do you just note in your auctions to wait for invoice?

azlanxp 01-31-2009 09:56 AM

yes
i already said in my advertise that they will receive the from me...
cartmanger we will send the invoice automatic after the auction close..
or they can checkout at ebay advertise page

aspkin 01-31-2009 10:13 AM

Checkout, meaning with a Cartmanager button yes? They can buy directly off your auction.

azlanxp 01-31-2009 06:49 PM

yes..
when u use cartmanager
cartmanager will give you ==> eBay "Winning Bidder" button code

Quote:

This is the code compiler for a "Winning Bidder" button that you can place inside your eBay auctions. This button is not required for a functional shopping cart. Still, placing this at the top of each eBay auction will make it easier for your winning bidders to pay for their items.
so,my buyer can pay using the invoice that cartmanager sent directly to them or at ebay auction

mike_uk 01-31-2009 07:54 PM

Customer can pay it by paypal ?
Is it working at Ebay.co.uk?thanks

azlanxp 01-31-2009 08:10 PM

yes..
they can pay using paypal
working with ebay.co

but please take note,
only 1 ebay site for 1 cartmanager
because if you set the account in GBP, you will invoice the buyer in GBP only
but you can change anytime

jerry0202 01-31-2009 09:11 PM

but i think ebay will not let u list item in ebay.co.uk if u dont choose paypal

azlanxp 01-31-2009 10:12 PM

of course you must accept paypal if u want list at ebay.uk

Dear,
friend

I just want to ask you, if I use cart manager on ebay australia, do I need to link it with a google checkout to automatically send invoice to my customers?

Or it's unnecessary to link it with google checkout to send invoice?

And also, I am bit confused when I get into the setting in cart manager...it says that I have to have my own website to be able to use cart manager? But i am only a ebay seller, I don't own any website.

Any helps of how to use this cart manager will be very helpful to me.

Thanks...

king02 02-20-2009 10:35 PM

Can cartmanager be used with other payment options besides paypal like google akertpay or something

What if you sell designer brand items and Ebay says you must use PayPal only for this? Can you still use Cartmanager as it can accept PayPal on those auctions? What do you check in your listings as payment method?.... only PayPal, or PayPal and Merchant Account together?
I've been reading this, but still confused and would like to know if using Cartmanager is any advantage when selling Vero...Hope someone can advise on this. Thanks.

IS A CARTMANAGER DISCUSSION STILL VALID NOW in MARCH 2009?

is cartmanager still legal in eBay after the new checkout rules of Jan 2009 ???
eBay says clearly that you may not mention or make any reference to any off-policy payment options in your listing (putting a CM button seems like it scereams "violation")

They SPECIFICALLY single out even the case when you might tell buyers to "contact you for other payment options". This is illegal. You want a quick suspension??

Checkout processors other than eBay checkout are limited to just a couple of vendors, who I would bet have agreed to exchange info with eBay, if any request is made "in the interest of fraud prevention".

SO if you're a new account, and you know your listings will be closely watched for the next 90 days, and you don't want to break policy in any visible way, where does CART MANAGER stand then?

CartManager website still displays the EBAY logo, as if it were an approved partner, but this may be old information now???

Cheers

boondoggle 02-28-2009 08:59 PM

You can still use Cartmanager for now, the Ebay checkout rule has not yet been implemented. You can still generate a token with cartmanager and Cartmanager still claims to be an ebay partner. Modee claimed that accounts which were already set-up to use a 3rd party shopping cart would not be affected by Ebay's rule change, whether that is true, I dont know. Whether you find cartmanager useful is another thing.

Lyda, click that you accept PayPal but put a note in your listings that you dont use Ebay checkout and to either pay using the cartmanager "winning buyer" button or to wait for the invoice. There's lots more information on this on other threads. Personally Ive given up on cartmanager as it was just created more problems than benefits.
But its free to try, so give it a go and find out for yourself

imo, that is far too risky for the account. The catergory ask for paypal as the payment method and a note to avoid using it will raise flags.Designer clothing
is a nasty :there are far too many competitors that will be only too happy to report such a listing. We know that buyers do not understand to wait for invoices & only want to use paypal. How to solve that is the answer.

sick-bay 03-01-2009 09:07 AM

"""You can still use Cartmanager for now, the Ebay checkout rule has not yet been implemented. """

You don't seem to be taking seriously eBay's new policy which HAS GONE INTO EFFECT JAN 19 2009.

If you've been grandfathered into an account, that's another story, (you are actually taking unknown risks in breaking policy, betting on some perceived grandfather immunity); this is about a NEW account opened today.

""" Modee claimed that accounts which were already set-up to use a 3rd party shopping cart would not be affected by Ebay's rule change"""

Modee is not longer here, and this informatin is old.

"""" put a note in your listings that you dont use Ebay checkout and to either pay using the cartmanager "winning buyer" button or to wait for the invoice.""""

I just said this practice is illegal.
please read new eBay plicy.
easiest way to find it is to go to "Google checkout" site and see their info about "use with ebay", they have a direct link to the new policy.
You cannot suggest in any communication with your buyer --including the listing--- to use alternative methods of paying /invoicing.

""" There's lots more information on this on other threads. """

lots of old information, PRE-JAN 2009

------------------

Cart manager was of course of interest in insulating a Paypal or Gogle checkout acount from eBay.

If there are alternative methods of accomplishing this that won't raise a
flag, that would be obviously of interest to many people.

It is also possible that policy implementation and enforcement may follow slower timetables on international eBay sites than on eBay.com, which is always the primary target of T&S.

ebaykilla 03-01-2009 02:14 PM

sigh...cartmanager is NOT illegal (breaking ebay rules is not a crime anyway). eBay allows third party checkout. eBay still allows you to link cartmanager as checkout which I still do to this day on all my new accounts. Saying that cartmanager is illegal, not allowed, etc is total misinformation on this form. eBay offered "Payyflow" as an OPTION for sellers..NOT a mandate back on Jan.19, 2009.
