Amex Gift Cards might Verfiy eBay Accounts And Gain Expanded Use #s From Pp
 

Hi awhile back there was a posting about amex gift cards no one here wanted to get them cause u could'nt verfiy paypal with them or so we thought. I tried it for siggles and sure enough it works even for getting the Exp use #'s only down fall it takes a few days to show up but its there

Thats a copy of my amex giftcard statement online so they do indeed work and there only $25 with a 3.95 fee when buying them + about 2 times out of the year that have a promo going on where you buy 3 giftcards and get a $25 giftcard for free :)

We might be on to something now. Let the forum know how the paypal accounts go after you used this card. Do hope that nothing gets rejected in a few more days.:tears:

Those AMEX gift cards don't verify AVS as far as I know.

sweet, i was pissed when i read they didnt work last time they were having a promo on the cards. hope they have another soon...

as i recall i think i tried it in the past and it wouldnt let me add it as a credit card but now it did guess paypal is changeing things up maybe wanting more users or something who knows.

Nothing else they still work for ebay and peps who dose'nt use paypal but a merchant account as well as they work for half.com as well

doughboy, Any update on the cards? How did the paypal side go?

Its still working fine not limted yet i belive these will work for paypal now i did another just the other day and got the expand use number 2 days later. :)

I used AMEX gift card yesterday to lift $500 limit on one of my PayPal accounts. So far so good.. I just need to check in a day or two the 4 digit number for 1.95 PP charged and enter to lift.
The only difference I noticed between Amex and other credit cards is that 3 digit verification number u need to enter in the small box.......usually found on the back of all other cards. Even though Amex has also this 3 digit number on the back, you really need to enter the 4 digit number found above your card number on FRONT of the card. That is the only difference.

Doughboykilla, I just checked my Amex statement and it only shows two charges from PP..1.95 and 1.00 charged yesterday. Does not give any other info, no Exp number or anything... Are you saying it will eventually show up in few days or should I call Amex and ask for this number? Uhhh.....just when I thought Amex works fine....

yeah give it a day or two then go online and check your blance it will have the Expand use number on there. Only difference between these on other cards is these dont have AVS so u cant do address verfiy with these.

Thanks, was getting worried...I am already address verified with Paypal, so I guess it will be good just to lift 500 limit.

OK, confirmed! The Expuse # (4 digits) did show up today on my statement and I was able to lift $500 limit. As Doughboykilla mentioned earlier, they will first charge $1.95 and there will be nothing there but 1.95 for few days. It is "Pending" with Amex, so Expuse # will show up indeed, just few days later.....

No longer works anymore :( It was werid at first it didnt work then did and now it don't any more.

They are catching up with us, but we'll find new cards...

Yeah and it wont be so eazy for them to figer out which works and dose'nt sence we no longer post them on these fourms for them to see lol

Its not just that, they can ban cards on the fly now. A seller had a card from a small bank that worked once, so they went and got 3 more a couple days later. Ebay banned that card by the time the seller returned.

I think they can ban by BIN on the fly now. We need ones that are not listed as gift cards on a BIN list.

I dont think they can ban going by the BIN cause like here i can buy giftcards at are banks and they have the same BIN as the bank issued debit cards so if they banned the giftcards then they would ban the debit cards thus causeing alot of every day people from getting accounts on ebay.

others say theres a string of code they separates the giftcards from the debit and credit cards and ebay somehow has access to this code now.

another thing i noticed on the bank issued giftcards is the online access sites where the same layout just different bank names so i think theres only a few Co.s that issue the visa giftcards to banks and there all the same Co.s so if ebay banneds one all the others get hit to. That might be the case for that seller! btw was it a visa giftcard?
