I use a burner app on my iPhone which works with PayPal and eBay
I too would appreciate Knowing what app it is.
Really kind of the point of this site to exchange ideas and answers. Help others with same issues.
Not much point in simply saying I have a solution and that's it.

PayPal customer service may help. They may want to verify your personal identity. Use a real sim, so you have access all the time, as OTP is the norm now.

I know it's been a while, but I've heard that some users had successfully received verification codes via free Android apps like text+ and Google Voice; but it can be hit or miss depending on the service you're trying to verify. Some apps may not be recognized as a valid phone numbers by certain services. It's always a good idea to double-check the requirements of the service you're trying to use and ensure that your app is compatible. Or try an alternative, like a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ phone number for verification. Good luck!

It's always going to be a lot easier to use a SIM. No way of knowing if numbers are being reissued so don't risk an account with it
