2) No it makes your account less safe in eBay/PayPals eyes and after a couple of sales you would likely be asked to either verify your PayPal...

Paypal are (as usual) having issues with their system recognising sort codes/account numbers.

I've had the same issue with main stream banks also.

You need to ring them up and nicely ask them...
